Not in detail, no. And I don't need to, as they're not needed to describe physics as we know it. If Mr. Bannan wants to discuss properties of hyperreal numbers, he's more than welcome to, but he doesn't have anywhere near the prerequisite level to do so. He's still stuck somewhere in the 17th century as far as maths goes, and hyperreal numbers weren't invented until the 1960's.

For instance, if Mr. Bannan takes the time to learn the properties of real numbers, and studies real analysis, abstract algebra and topology (which will take him years of dedicated study), then moves on to hyperreal numbers, good for him. He would then still need to show how hyperreal numbers correspond to objects in nature, and how they can be used to derive useful facts about the universe as we know it. He hasn't made any attempt to do anything like this, instead all he's done is make contradictory statements about the basic properties of real numbers.

If you haven't studied hyperreal numbers, then how do you know you need to learn the insides and out of real numbers first? I don't get the feeling that hyperreal numbers is an advanced study of real numbers, but rather a different set of numbers altogether. Moreover, why does one have to study a subject in depth in order to ask someone who has studied the subject a question about it? The party who studied it may very well be able to answer the question in terms the unstudied can understand. You may have no experience frying an egg, but a cook could give you the general principles in terms you can understand.

I told you I haven't studied it in detail. But I've studied enough to know that you and John J. Bannan are wasting your time asking these things, you won't find the answers you want to hear. You can invent just about any logical system you want to derive "something" from "nothing", that doesn't mean it corresponds to reality. In the case of hyperreal numbers, you won't get this result, and you won't understand anything anyone tells you about these numbers or their use anyhow, just like John doesn't understand the answers we've been giving him and just goes on repeating himself over and over as if this stuff should be understandable by a jury in court. Ridiculous.

    Then stick to frying eggs.

I understand where you are coming from. During a stay with a small tribe in outer Mongalia I was really angry when the natives couldn't tell me how to say plenipotentiary in their dialect. The lazy bastards couldn't be bothered to learn English.

Why are you suggesting this? Why can't I ask for help with chaos theory?
