Not in the fall. evergreens excepted. Please by precise and define what the word tree means to you. The reason for so much confusion on this forum is the result of people not defining their terms, For example, would you say the term trees subsumes shrubs ?

That's the problem I'm referring to. You are making an unwarranted assumption.

Portions of the deciduous trees leave in the fall or fall in the leaves (the ones that have already fallen) so I stand by my assertion. In fact I am willing to debate in the formal debates section on this one. And as an Irishman I would think you would be behind me on this one - let the grammar of that sentence take you where it will.

Terms are passive. 'Trees', being a term, cannot do any thing.

Shrubs are very aggressive and are not considered even good neighbors by any self-respecting tree.

We do share common ancestry with all trees I believe. It is a colony of cells that allows us to be emotional and who's to say its not inherent in every living cell.

What kind of tree have you in mind ? An oak is not the same as an evergreen. Were you perhaps thinking of a Chritmas tree ? How about shoe trees ? The tree of life ? Were you there when they nailed him to a tree ( Spiritual ). Be specific and I'll do my best

All trees are different I agree.

A christmas tree is a dead tree, including the artificial ones.

The trees I refer to are the ones Draqan's has experience with.

Before we go to assuming trees have feelings, have we established people to having feelings? What if we are morbid cold chemical reacting creatures ourselves and what we call feelings are just reactions of complex chemical molecular interactions?

But Dragon was not specific, so how can you be sure what he was hugging. He might have been drunk and hugging a lampost. Witnesses are required before the matter can be taken further. I would also reques a character reference.

Generally, trees are immune to change, making them far more reliable observers and recorders of reality than us.

When you add this together with the great ages some of them can live - two thousand years plus - it may seem that we are already sharing the world with beings greater than ourselves.

We hold this tree to be self-evident, that all trees are born free ...

Let's get back to basics and define feelings. What does it mean to say that I have a feeling it will rain tomorrow ?
