The record? WTF is that? Go take a high school chemistry class and then come back and talk to me about records.

    Strawman fallacy/Falsehood.

Photolysis causes the methane to fall apart - forming radicals.
The radicals recombine into longer chain hydrocarbons.

    2H₃C-H + hν → 2H₃C• + 2H•

    H₃C• + H₃C• → C₂H₆

It's not coming from the mantle. The planet is covered in ice (be it water or something like ammonia) and just like liquid water can be under ice caps on Earth, there can be liquid under the ice. With the tidal heating due to gravitational interactions of the ice and the planet the moon goes around, pressure builds up as some of the liquid vapourises and it bursts out in a 'volcano'. Nothing to do with the mantle, it's all above the rock surface of the moon.

So how many cows, dinosaurs, fossils, algae, and lipids are living in Titan's volcanoes?

Non sequitere - neither article discusses the presence of Ethane in the methane cryovolcanoes, this is purely your assumption.

    Neither article contradicts photolysis.
Citing an article that discussed ethane in the cryovulcanism would not discount the photolysis model - which is based on firm, proven, and provable science.

In fact, given the accepted structure of titan.

The presence of Ice VI pretty much excludes the possibility of the temperatures and pressures required for the mechanism you describe - including the presence of water ice in the core.

Fossils and lipids are not alive, you vitalist moron..

Strawman fallacy - At no point have I claimed that these things exist on titan (nor have I claimed that hydrocarbons on titan must be made the same way as they are here).

Appeal to ignorance, and appeal to emotion.

You appear to be, once again, appealing that organic chemistry is the same thing as vitalism.

This statement in no way supports any of your arguments.

Oil Doesn't Come From Dead Dinosaurs Reply to Thread

oil desn't come from dead dinasours it is true.actually this is bological process in earth because earth is also alive like tree. just like oil is produced by biological process in wood of tree same oil is produced in earth.

Something to put on the campfire; now there's a pasa doble - yay!

P.S. Interesting how OIM, who seems to know little actual chemistry, appears to be happy (a chuckle here and a chuckle there) about his lack of any realistic grasp of photochemistry, what can happen in the cold of interplanetary, and interstellar space; why Titan has got hydrocarbon chains floating around in a photochemical environment - stuff like that.

Any science student who's studied organic chem knows about radical chemistry; but the Mastery of this basic, even fundamental principle of all chemistry, appears to have eluded the expert.

Well I have begun to think the OilIsMastery is looking for the enviroment and conditions at which all of earths oil was made, while at the same time OIM disagrees that biological life, such as seas of microoragnisms, planet life and dinosaurs are not the cause of the creation of the earths oil deposits. The drift of OIMs argument for oil/hydrocarbon creation is a non biological catalyst,of which there is some suggestion made by the discover of some oil that is seeping from rock formation in one of russias lakes.

So it seems that it simular to that of CO2 and resin that is released from such stones as Marble and Apitate lime stone when heated.

OIM I guess looks to the presence of Hydrocarbons on the Saturn satilite Titan as another example of hydrocarbons forming without the invovlement of biological life.

To address the conditons of oil formation on earth, I would suggest the use of the Map I posted of the Black Peral period. As it defines the water/ ocean levels for the surface of the planet when CO2 released from the internal earth and was absorbed by the oceans.

Regardless of the various conditions of hydrocarbon formation biological in origin or non-biological, CO2 emmissions from internal earth is the primary source of carbon based structures be it coal, marble, limestone or oil oreinted hydrocarbons.

The total CO2 emmissions from internal earth present during the the Black Pearl period is difficult to account. but the total hydrocarbon formation can be accounted for being just about 11,650,000 cubic miles (just about the size of africa, buried in 1 mile of oil/hydrocarbons). This is the total for hydrocarbon formation, the remainder of CO2 in the atmosphere has to take some other formation other than as a hydrocarbon. (total CO2 in atmosphere UKNOWN)

Given the presence of CO2 in marbles and lime stone I assume that it safe to assume that these materials represent the very first settling of CO2 to the physical surface of the earth from the atmosphere. and that oil formation take place at a later time period.

As atmosphere there is simply just CO2 and Nitrogen in circulation.

The oceans must be by demand Carbolic acids, and is also the stage from which OIL/ Hydrocarbons must take formation.

The average pressure on the ocean floor was about 608 tons per square foot or 4.2 tons per sq inch.( and greater). Which gives according to Oilismastery Quote of 30 Kilobars as the nessacary pressure formation for oil, gives a depth of about 2,226 for the formation of oil during the black peral period, this would be just about 1,500 ft(2000ft) above current Sea/ocean levels.

It aslo appears that climate of earth would be rather warm given the known green house effect.

Other determining conditions define that most CO2 absorbtion occurs in the southern hemisphere of earth and so we can exspect to find larger deposits in the southern hemisphere of earth.

In addition there appears to be geological activity, over much of the earths surface. (ocean plate spreading ect...)
