I dont think that is what he said or even implied. Virgin births on their own are very interesting. Surely you can at least agree with that.

παρθένος the Greek word used in the New Testament to describe Mary refers to a young, umarried woman. The notion of chasteness and purity is an optional meaning. Consequently it is not even clear that the mythology of the Virgin Birth was intended by the writers of the NT.

Yes, as you and I and everyone who has ever existed are all animals. Or perhaps you're a plant or mineral? You act like a cabbage quite often, but I know that's a result of your brainwashing.

I do, because I've been there. But if you are implying the whole of the bible is true, because it mentions one thing that we can verify to be true, that's a logical fallacy.

The Old Testament states that snakes eat dirt, and that hares chew the cud. Neither of these are true. What is your answer to these factual errors?

I don't know why Oil can't understand that even if a human virgin birth is confirmed, it just lessens the credibility of the idea of a god.

Because he can only double think the pro position. He can't entertain any real logic, especially if it challenges his dogma.

If it happens in nature, it's natural, but to him it would be proof of a miracle. I guess he'd fall down on his knees and start worshipping the new born, or something.

Phlogistician, do you have a hypothesis as to exactly how this happens?

As has been mentioned, some fish have an ability to change sex but i dont believe sharks are one of them.

If that's true, then why are you so upset about virgin births?

Oil, I hope you read this.

The best proof of something supernatural would be if virgin birth was proved scientifically impossible, and the virgin birth of Jesus was proved to have happened.

Proving it possible means it's less likely there was anything supernatural going on.

There is nothing supernatural about the First Cause. God is real.

No, I'm not a biologist. But I'll listen to those qualified in the field, and see what they have to say.

If the report is correct though, this species of shark, or at least this example of that species can. It could be, wait for it, ... a beneficial mutation.

If god can defy the law of physics, its supernatural, it does not matter if god is real or not, fuck even if god works within the laws of physics its still have no baring on if or if not god exists.

How can God be the 'First Cause'? Didn't something have to have created God?

Ah finally! absolute proof that the story of Ra, Krishna, Karna, Tammuz, Zoroaster and hundreds of other virgin birth stories are all true as well. All praise the great sun god Ra! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_virgin_births

the virgin birth of jesus is just taken form other made up stories-get over it.

Because it's another example of a mistranslation in a book that millions of people follow and believe.

    Very easily. It's tautological.

No. You must not know what first means.

It's only a tautological expression to a believer of your sky-pixie.
