The statement posed by the title requires a few mental hurdles to be overcome. 1. All reality is perceived 2. All perception is relative, and thus, suspect 3. All knowledge gained without the knowledge that reality is suspect is, itself, suspect. 4. Things that are suspect should be compared 5. The most accurate comparisons are found by comparing something to all other things 6. All other things includes things considered absurd 7. Reality is the lie we tell ourelves is truth... Therefore Absurdity is truth. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
Even worse ....which reality? You see a man holding a gun on someone. Is he robbing an innocent man, or is he a cop holding vicious criminal? How do you know? You call 911 and the cops come with sirens and lights flashing. It distracts the man with the gun, so the other man grabs the gun and shoots him. You point out the man you thought was a robber with a gun, so the cops arrest one man but can't catch the other one who now holds the gun. Ooh, then the cops discover that the man they arrested is also a cop who was holding the murderer and trying to arrest him. The bad guy got away. Ooops, wait ...are you sure that's what happened? Or is that what the cops are telling you now that it's over? Do you believe the cops? Which reality? Baron Max
Think of it like a train-draq. 1. is the engine. 7. is the caboose. Not precisely, but it will work. The engine actually starts far before that. Should I start a new thread about reality's existence being inconsequential to those not observing it? or shoud I go earlier, to the assertion that all knowledge, based on other knowledge, should be considered as suspect as any other thought, because of the relativity of the knower to themselves? I can go earlier, if you like. I just tried to pick a convenient point to start from, to travel to my actual thought.
One reality with many skewed perceptions...right? because a dream and life are not the same or are they? And are not skewed perceptions different realities?
While you're busy, could you also prove that that reality is the same as all versions of reality that are perceived?
I can't do it over the internet.. duh Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! It involves an experiment. Anyway, I'm off now. Talk to you later Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
Max was saying-whose perception of reality, Enmos, anyway, although having reality proven independent of perception would be very interesting.
Enmos wants to rape me for experimental purposes. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
Science acknowledges that all knowledge is suspect and describes apparent relationships, not absolute truths. There are degrees of absurdity, and some things are less absurd than others.
All things, if absurd, are greeted with skepticism, correct? How then can anything be "commonly held" to be true, within scientific study, anyway?
I guess that just means that all those scientists are ....absurd? Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! Baron Max
