Those are not mutually exclusive. Even things that are commonly held to be true should be approached with an attitude of skepticism.
Baron Max-Yep. But then, so is everyone and everything else that we imagine to exist. spidergoat-What is truth, then, if it is necessary to regard it with skepticism? If you say that truth is absurdity, I will respond by saying that reality is relative truth. Perhaps, then, we are agreed, but let's see...
Spidergoat-then we are in agreement. Now, the question becomes, if there is nothing to rely on, and reality is relative to perception, doesn't that make everything both true and untrue at the same time? Schrodinger's cat is an example of this, I'd say, but the question of the cat's existence is not often brought into play.
everyone has a reality, either excepted or denied by society. society's reality is a very visual and concrete reality. but if thats not what you think living is for that that is an absurdity. but why does it even matter, your hypothesis and i suppose your "thoery" should be more indepth with the roots of humanity.
Spider, there is a difference between reality and one's perception of it. Reality does not exist because we are here.
Enmos, Your view that our being here means reality doesn't exist is interesting. Could you expand on your thinking? I am familiar with schrodinger's cat. It just easily lends itself to referral for my purposes, and I am fond of it, because of the absurdity of it. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
Because of a convergence of systematic perceptions. Now can we talk about something interesting? There are ****ing trees falling in forests all around the planet and I have to go listen to them.
Ophi-correct me if I'm wrong, please. Converging systematic perceptions, which are all based on probabilities and relativity to the perceiver, settle on what is a point among all possibilities. That point does not negate any possibility, except upon agreement among perceivers, which could be mass hallucination(Absurd, I know, but possibility is possibility.). There is no fact. The Greatest truth to be had is that truth doe not exist.
