Notice how people who think this thread is about racism rather than chocolate causing car accidents completely sidestep valid and factual criticisms of their posts, and dive staight into the emotive appeals and arguments?

They weren't fascists. They were the same people.

My point is that white people have invented various forms of religions and governments, but none of these are actually what they are.

But your post has got me thinking. Will post more later.

But from the perspective of evolutionary time human culture is irrelevant.

I am aiming at some force which is above human governments, in a scientific sense of course.

    No.

It is you who is under the illusion that blacks today are better off than they were during the time of slavery.

Are you so dumb that you consider the U.S.A. to be a self-determining black nation?

Go here to see what happens to black people when they try that.

During slavery black people lived like one family on the plantation, with mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, uncles, aunties, etc... all living together, the same way African people live in extended families.

At the end of the days work the slaves would return to their quarters to eat and party. The plantation was where black people invented blues and jazz. There was poetry readings and dancing, grandmothers and grandfathers would narrate moral parables and people ate traditional African foods. Even the religions were still heavily influenced by African culture.

Compare that to the life of American blacks today and I think you'll agree times were better then.

I take it you have never considered the very notion of individual self-determination?

You make it sound like a holiday.

Unfortunately you left out the part where half the time, the family unit was broken up when one or more members of the family were either killed or sold off to other plantation owners. Then of course you have the break down of the family unit when the women and girls in the family are raped, fall pregnant and then give birth to a half caste child.. the child is then moved to house duties and the mother would sometimes have to accompany the child and live in the slave quarters closer to the main house. I guess that didn't make it to the brochure, eh Deep?

I would suggest you take off the rose coloured glasses and actually educate yourself on the treatment of slaves.

You mean like when their native religion was banned and they were forced to be baptised by the religion of choice of their owners? Seriously, I would suggest you actually read up on slavery and educate yourself.

Yes. It was much better when they were not free as individuals and were instead considered to be on par with cattle. It was much better when they were not allowed to be educated but were instead forced into hard labour from childhood with threats of beatings and death if they did not comply. I mean look at Obama! He would have been much better off as a slave than as being the future President of the US. What was he thinking? Doesn't he know that his future is much brighter as a slave than as a free man about to take the highest seat in office? [/end sarcasm]

Ghirardelli is chocolate candy, a sockpuppet is somebody who posts under different guises; it's not allowed but many try to get away with it.

Oh. My. *Insert preferred deity/prophet here*.

I cannot believe that such ignorant, stupid statements are allowed on this site.... Why don't we dissect these bullshit statements and see just how wrong they are:

Oh really? Yes, I suppose all those white plantation owners really did care for keeping their families together, like when they could and often arbitrarily broke families apart and sold them to different plantations. Many times babies were quite literally taken away from their mothers to be sold somewhere else... There are well documented accounts of plantation owners just simply and casually selling off ones children, or ones parents if it suited them financially.

Or, what about the fact that slaves were often segregated according to the types of jobs they had to do, with no regard with their families. For instance, there were relatively few men on domestic sites such as the house hold.

Wrong. Blues and Jazz was invented in the 1920's. Long, long after slavery was abolished. They never had time to party, they worked, like, 14 hours a day or so.

Wow, that's probably the stupidest statement I've ever seen. Black slaves were for the most part illiterate. How the fuck could they have done any of that.

"Traditional African Foods" my ass, they ate whatever was available at hand, which, depending on the plantation was either the fields they sowed or whatever their masters could give them, or what they could buy if they happened to have any money at all.

    Nonsense.

    =====================================

So, DeepThought. Or, should I call you RetardedThought instead.

So, tell me RetardedThought, where, if anywhere are your suppositions supported in this article: http://library.thinkquest.org/CR0215469/life_of_a_slave.htm

    Dissect?

That's going to prove a bit much for a cretin like yourself.

This is your dissection, more liberal propaganda?

All the positives about slavery have been suppressed by white liberal racism.

Of course you want to maintain the stereotype of blacks historically as ignorant and illiterate, and desperately in need of the salvation bought by massa.

Nat Turner was an evil man intent on destroying a way of life. He's only remembered today to buttress the criminal concept of human rights, as is clearly evident from the link you posted.

Here's a black woman telling it like it is:

    Slavery Is Not Wrong.

But I can't imagine your going to call her names my hypocritical liberal friend.

How long did it take you to find that blog entry?

When I met you, I thought that that was it: a person so ignorant as to believe that blacks were better off as slaves...

But you've opened my eyes...there are people even more confused than you on the internet.

    Wow.

You know something, I never really believed Einstein when he said "Two things are infinite, the Universe and Human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the Universe"

But I guess RetardedThought is living proof.

I don't know, but aren't science forums supposed to be filled with smart people

Oh, sure they have! It's all a vast globalist conspiracy isn't it? Of course, the treatment of slaves is some of the most well documented phenomenon ever, from both sides. Illiteracy, for example, was a law that was forced upon the slaves.

I suppose you've never read Uncle Tom's Cabin or Friedrich Douglass, they are all first hand accounts of the conditions of slavery. I suppose all those people who called Harriet the "Moses for her people" were all part of the conspiracy too, huh?

And, why do you think I'm even a white person?

Human rights are criminal? I've never seen such a characterization of such a basic concept held and cherised by 99% of all humans that ever lived.

Well, imagination doesn't seem to be your strong suit either I'm afraid (along with basic reality check). This person is very clearly an idiot, just like you

You know, I can just imagine who RetardedThought could be. He's probably just some person who lives in the deep South. Never went to college, and probably thinks the Confederate flag is something to be proud of. Probably thinks the whole civil war thing was just about "states rights" too, even though slavery was codified in the Confederate constitution...

Probably an ardent follower of the idea of "scientific racism" too.

Oh, and another thing, who wants to bet on how long before he gets banned, or this thread gets thrown into the Cesspool...

Let me help you with your confusion.

You think your smart, hence you come to a science forum.

So far you have revealed little intelligence or reasoning, only a great ability to conform to societies norms and to mouth the 'established' truths.

Now you are really showing your ignorance of the subject matter. Literacy is an attack upon African/black people. In the opening to his essay "For America To Live Europe Must Die", American Indian writer Russell Means clearly explains why:

African culture is based upon orature. Written symbols, especially mathematical ones, require a level of psychological sophistication which is conspicuously absent from African history.

Imposing them has led to a ghettoization of blacks, and a culture of dependency and cruelty.

Stowe's novel is merely liberal whining, and only a red herring if you are searching for the real reasons why slavery was abolished, which are entirely economic.

Wow. You just parade these retarded platitudes as though they mean something, although I can understand that someone with a low opinion of their own intelligence, which you clearly have, and not wrongly so I might add, will clutch on to any passing inanity for intellectual comfort. The herd is the perfect place for you.

Human rights are never democratically voted for, they are imposed by stronger nations on weaker ones.

Your missed by a mile. But keep trying.

Your mind is so pedestrian and dull that it is, quite frankly, beneath my interest.
