I just noticed that my profile pic is all 'fuzzy'.
Was there some change to how the site handles images?
I'm thinking I'll have to load a new profile pic.... anyone know what the max resolution and file sizes are?

The forum should have a black background with white type...easier on the eyes, like bloomberg.com

    And bigger avatars!

Just wanted to say that I don't experience that.

It's possibly down to a compression library that is used between the server and browser to increase the speed at which images and the page itself can load on Sciforums. Since this is a "filter Compression" the effects are only viewed by the end-user, of course there are other stages within the images being viewed like:

    • What compression was used when it was uploaded
    • Whether the internal GD+ library has been configured to compress an image further
    • Then eventually the Filter used for compression to save on bandwidth.

Running uncompressed would increase bandwidth usage by at least 20%, although it would lessen CPU overhead. I guess it's a toss up between the occasional "Sciforum's is busy message" or finding the bandwidth restricted.

Can we stop with the updates soon? My browser window is starting to get more & more cluttered with information. I feel like I'm watching CNN or MSNBC.

    [edit]
Oh cool, I can see who is spying on me- ashura, James R, and Orleander.

I made 2 albums called Movie Buffs and Dog Lovers. I made them public, but Mikenostic said he searched everywhere for the Dog one and can't find it. He said he looked under Social Groups and nothing.

Did I do something wrong setting it up?
