You must be a big fan of Rush Limbaugh. You employ exactly the same diversion tactics.

    1) Living in "peace times" is awful in Palestine.
    2) There is a natural urge to fight back amongst much of the Palestinian population.
    3) There is a necessity for a Palestinian state.
    4) The Israelis and some Arab nations have made life for the Palestinians unthinkable by our comfortable standards.
    5) There is no valid excuse for Israel to not immediately hand over nearly everything that reasonable people have asked for.
    6) They should have done so yesterday, and they should do so tomorrow, but they won't.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------
    7) Therefore living in peaceful times in Gaza is worse than living in war times in Gaza.

I didn't "dismiss" anything, Sam. You've simply either mastered Rush's ability to sidestep any logical or factual claim by appealing to slander and emotion, or you simply don't have any concept of logic.

I'll repeat one more time for your benefit.
Sam: Sarcastic comment implying that Gaza (a) once had a time with no arms smuggling (b) that it wasn't helpful to Gaza.
Tyler: Pointing out the obvious fact that yes, in fact, life was better without the war. If it wasn't, we wouldn't all have gotten so upset over the war.
Sam: Life in Palestine is always hard! They're oppressed! The resistance is honourable!
Tyler: Nothing of what you said contradicts what I did. You just missed the point completely.

Mind you, this is only one of over 13 million hits I just got with "israel un resolutions" - three little words?

There must be a lot of unsubstantiated rubbish that the Israelis see no need to even bother trying to explain or defend. Germany did much the same thing in invading various European countries. Perhaps Israel thinks it has plenty of time to annex its neighbours?

Actually I think what will happen, perhaps sooner than Israel would like, is that the US won't be able to maintain the intravenous dose it administers 5b at a time much longer. Americans will start to get upset about all the money their government is borrowing to prop up the regime.

There is also the question of the outstanding sanctions from the UN, these don't expire just because the defendant ignores them. There's a bit of a swing coming up for the big kid on the roundabout. Also, despite the smiles and handshakes, Israel has approximately zero Arab friends, they will all side against the Zionists, given an opportunity to exact retribution - 60 years worth. Arabs have memories too.

When Israel starts to implode - recall it's governed by disparate political groups with varying degrees of fanaticism, the Arabs might wait for the smoke to clear, and for Israel to "conquer itself" a little. But the regime is doomed, it rests on very shaky ground - a faith-based political system, a justice system that strongly favours Jews, and a population that rationalises being armed constantly.

They will probably end up fighting each other, since being armed and fighting is the only universal theme in the whole sordid mess.

Yes, and we whipped their ass good.

Yes SAM you are historically challenged aren't you.

There has been violence against the Israelis since long before 1948.

How can there have been violence against Israelis, before Israel existed?

Aren't we looking just a little historically challenged, me ol' Buffalo?

And it all started with the Arabs ignoring U.N. Resolution 181 didn't it?

The Arabs ignored U.N. 181 and went to war in a land grab to destroy the Israeli State.

You also forget all the Resolutions that the Palestinians have ignored over the years also.

The Palestinians have followed Israel's lead and ignored 120 UN sanctions?
Do you know where the resolution 181 records the negotiations with the Palestinians, the part where they agreed initially to submit to the UN's rule? Which they would need to do to be able to ignore them by then changing their minds later like Israel did?

They aren't allowed to follow Israel's example, you mean?

Don't think that's how it actually goes, you history inventer you. How do people grab the land they've been living on?

Hamas Steal Food out of the Mouths of Gazan Children

Hamas has now screwed up the U.N. Food Aid program to the People of Gaza.

UN halts aid to Gaza, cites Hamas disruption

By JOSEF FEDERMAN Associated Press Writer

JERUSALEM (AP) — The U.N. agency for Palestinian refugees said Friday it has halted all aid shipments into the Gaza Strip due to interference by the ruling Hamas militant group.

The U.N. Relief and Works agency said it made the decision after Hamas personnel intercepted an aid shipment for the second time this week.

In a statement, UNRWA said 10 truckloads of flour and rice that had been delivered into Gaza on Thursday were taken away by trucks affiliated with the Hamas-run Ministry of Social Affairs. Earlier this week, Hamas police took thousands of blankets and food parcels meant for needy residents.

UNRWA said the suspension would remain in effect until the aid is returned and the agency receives credible assurances from the Hamas government that such thefts will end. There was no immediate reaction from Hamas.

Ah, I think (thanks for repeating it) I've got the idea now. Israel accepts one UN resolution and rejects 120. Arabs ignore the first one, and all the others? And Palestinians had never heard of the UN? They still aren't sure what it's supposed to be doing, but Israel's idea is a good example to emulate?

    Let simplify this for you:

And it all started with the Arabs ignoring U.N. Resolution 181 didn't it?

Jews are Israelis, they have alwasy been Israelis.

They are the people of Israel.

But if it makes you feel better:

There has been violence against Jews long before there was a Israel.

There has also been violence against Arabs, and Persians, and Hindus, and Christians, and pretty much everyone except Americans, they've only been invaded once, and it was no big deal by all accounts.

They were far more violent against themselves a bit later on.

Were the Jews in Judah Isrealis, or the ones in Syria or modern Jordan, back in the day?
Why did the Romans call the place Judea? And the region Palestine?

Also, why did it all "start" when the Arab world ignored the resolution Israel chose to accept? You mean it's all because Israel has only ignored 120, but the Arabs have ignored 121?

So you don't know the answers, or I've managed to deconstruct your pedantic, simplistic view of the situation?

So the elected body is trying to assert itself, by insisting it's responsible for aid getting to people, or it's an evil organisation that only has self-interest in mind? So it will use the supplies to coerce Gazans? Or to feed itself instead?

Of course, since Gaza is completely free, the people can just go somewhere else can't they? So it isn't a problem is it?

I like how the pro-Israel people ignored my post of the alleged finding of 155mm shells in gaza.

Strange how the UN never acted when the Israelis were imposing a diet over the last two years, eh? Apparently, starving people is alright but taking food is bad.

And clearly, not providing food to 1.5 million people is a matter of little concern. But allowing the Jews to expand their settlements and ignore UN resolutions, practising apartheid, shooting children with snipers etc. requires no action at all. But stealing food? Must take action asap. Why, they might actually eat a little bit more than they should!
