What wild animal would you be most afraid of being charged by?

Either a wild boar (if I had no tree to climb) or a rhino.

I know you can 'play dead' with a grizzly and he'll leave you alone after a couple of minutes. Would that work on a polar bear?

No I don't think so, a polar bear is one of the most determined animals there is

Elephant. They can be ruthless, plus you can end up being crushed to death.

Hippo. They kill more people in Africa than lions every year than lions.

Let's take that further, a swarm of pissed off giant Japanese hornets. They have the bad attitude of killer bees, but with the bonus of being 5 times larger and can fly faster(faster than you can run).

Oh shit, I once saw a documentary one those.
They were decimating a honey bee hive like it was nothing.

Maybe the same docu that I saw. Those things are NO JOKE. Do not mess with them. If you know where their nest is, leave it the fuck alone.
They come after you, you're dead. End of story.

Yep, but those honey bees were common ones.
Japanese honey bees can handle them. They all jump on top of the scout hornet and start vibrating their bodies to raise the temperature.
The hornet can't take the rise in temperature and dies, the rest of the hornets never get word of the bees nest.
Was it the same docu ?

ummmm... I was almost charged by a bull the other day, so I'd have to go with them... my girlfriend and I were sat on the far side of a field full of cows, overlooking a really nice view, minding our own business, when all the cows started getting curious and coming over one by one. They got to within about ten feet, and stopped dead. We looked around, two of the cows parted, and out steps the bull, head lowered, pawing the floor and snorting. Needless to say, we GOT THE FUCK OUT

African buffalo are ill-tempered like that.

Unless they are already all over you, you can outrun a marbunta colony. You're not out-running a swarm of Japanese hornets.

Probably the worst IMO would be a wild buffalo--not the bison (though they're bloody dangerous as well on the wrong day) but the water buffalo, the ones with the really broad, sweeping horns; they run wild in northern Australia. You don't want to mess with a water buffalo--they're normally fairly placid, but look out--when they get pissed off, you'd better have a tree handy.

Other than that, the most dangerous wild animal to have charging at you is another human...
