A patient was abandoned on the operating room table. Other countries people have to wait for surgery some times. Well it appears we have instances here where patients have to wait for surgery here too. http://news.aol.com/health/article/...icle/woman-abandoned-in-operating-room/477610
I don't feel she was abandoned though. Surgery was post-poned. Her main doctor was unable to so it. Another doctor was asked to do it, but since she wasn't his patient he didn't feel comfortable doing it. I wouldn't want an doctor unfamiliar with my case operating on my brain. They act as if she was prepped for surgery and left on a table while everyone walked away.
this is the one that pisses me off. I hope lots of people get fired and the family sues for a whole lot of money. http://www.wpxi.com/news/19441125/detail.html
The article says the doctor did not have a family emergency as the patient was told. "To make matters worse, the Pennsylvania mother of three said she was later told by a hospital administrator that Bolognese really didn't have a family emergency and that the matter was being investigated."
yes, and that doctor lied to the hospital as well. They didn't know right away. But she wasn't abandoned on the operating table.
It said she was prepped and anesthetized. I think that means she was asleep, which usually means your on a breathing machine. I think technically surgery begins when your out. (asleep) The clock starts and they time the surgery from that point. Any OR nurses, Anesthesiologists or MD'S out there? I think she was treated horribly, to say the least.
Here is another example of US healtcare: http://stevemaloneygop.blogspot.com/2009/05/medical-horror-stories-physician.html
Third World Medical Clinics come to the United States. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H4kbag-f3K8 There is just no excuse for this...it pisses me off. Now all you Republican ditto heads, wrap yourself in the flag and be proud of this is the state to which you have brought us.
Allow healthcare to function in the manner that individuals choose (primarily, then, business and charity) instead of through gov't
So you are potentially beholden to your employer for your health? What kind of horrible conditions would you suffer through, say, for the life of your child? That's not freedom, that's a kind of slavery.
Does the employer have any obligation to provide healthcare? No...and neither does he have the power to determine what your healthcare is for you. It is your choice, to discuss with your co-workers and managers. Voluntarism. There are no obligations in a true free market beyond contractual obligations one voluntarily enters into. Therefore, it isn't slavery since you don't have to do it, and entering into service with others is completely voluntary.
After the resources have been shifted in the hands of a few corporations, after all parts of the commons have been bought up by the corporations, after the people have been separated from the land, after the corporations have legal means to buy governmental representation that no normal citizen can dream of you want to make it seem like these same 'employers' don't owe the rest of the people something? They bought the country. Since they can't even manage to put up a convincing facade of a democracy, the least they could do is make the living conditions tolerable for the people who wipe their asses and make their money. Here's a freedom that is too much freedom.... when a bank loans someone money they simply create money and shift it to their bank account. Once the bank has done this the bank is now allowed to invest MORE MONEY. IOW every time it loans out money it is allowed to create money it can invest and make money off of. I can't create money and invest it. You can't. Banks can.
The expectation that employers are to provide health care is part of what wrecked our quasi-socialist system. It definitely ruined manufacturing. That's actually not how it works.
God, it would be nice if people knew what they were talking about before they start running off at the fingers. Banks do not create money. Corporations serve a legitimate purpose and have nothing to do with healthcare. Yes some employers do offer healthcare to employees other do not. But they are not the reason healthcare costs are rising at double digit rates. The problem is government and corruption....lobyists. The problem is lobyists and their acomplices in congress and the White House have conspired to create monoplies in healthcare at the expense of governement and the American consumer and tax payer.
This is a good article on the healthcare situation in The United States. http://bostonreview.net/BR34.3/baker.php
