    Nightmares

    I would rather die
Then wait for the end of this affliction
For she who waits and watches
Suffers; like a soul being seperated into two
Two halves, two wholes, two minds
    Two seperate heartbeats pounding
Incessantly; the patter of my pulse
The night hanging over my head
    The thoughts of oblivion
    I know the words
    Of the whispered dead

you were Mrs. Kitchell Miss Spire
when we sat next to the fire
as children in a camp called Bethel park
    .
I felt it way back then
even though we were must friends
while staring at the stars when it was dark
    .
I lived so far away then
got my license and a girlfriend
our eyes would meet at most just twice a year
    .
    yet during those short days
all the questions it did raise
left them all unanswered out of fear
    .
now I've grown up as have you
threw the years we always knew
fate works in the most mysterious way
    .
you have children of your own
and a place that you call home
yet in my heart is where you'll always stay

I have been published...in my school's literary journal which actually is more impressive then it sounds; the journal is open to professors, students, and the public, so to have your work chosen is pretty effing cool

I would love to put an anthology together one day.

    Forget-me-not

I think people forget to feel the wind
    They forget to look up
And see the great swaying trees
They forget to close their eyes
And listen to the whisper of the leaves
    People forget the wind
    They forget to look up
    And we remain
    All to human

    If I Die

What can heaven be like if not strange?
For we are all too human to appreciate an eternity.
What must we become to gain
What it takes to appreciate never-ending ecstasy?
Some corporeal being of light? A Raven on white wings?
What must heaven be, if we are to always be human
Human with a nature so passionate that what is passion
Without pain? Without longing? Without sorrow?
What would heaven be; a windswept beach?
A tropical ocean of turquoise blue?
Pillars of white stone hung with golden curtains?
The scent of sweet smoke on the air?
The high of it all. To be so high.
How to appreciate such wonder, if it is to be eternal?
Do we never love again? Do the Gods ever love?
    Will we become simply beings
    Existing between space and time?
    Existence
    at the end
    of existence
    and light meets shadow
    and we again are nothing
    but breathless shades of
    our all too human souls?
    Heaven
    Hell
    What difference lies within?

    Katrina's song.

Late at night upon a lonely widow’s walk
Katrina’s pallid form did solemnly stalk
Waiting for her lover who had not returned
His soul lost past distant horizons to churn
In shuffling seas and shifting sands, evermore.

Katrina’s heart was cast from lead—
"Like no other," they had said
Fresh dew settled upon her eyes
As a part of her most benighted disguise
"For things were and are not as they seem"

Open windowpanes face fog and foam
Where specters and little things do dare to roam

Pages of words lay silently in the drawer of her desk
Small drawings did fill up the rest
Spoken with no joy I’ve seen
Those words never spoke what was really meant to mean
And fell off swiftly into and out of obscurity…

Like a wayward spirit tussled in the brine
That once half-step marched in perfect time
For a kingdom he had not known
And for a glory like bright emeralds shone
With the clarity of the hue of malcontent

If God were above, they never knew it
Drove dark poetry right through it—
And said no more, for there’s no more to say
Still Katrina walks every night, every day
No rest nor respite her spirit knows
In deep lines upon her face, it forever shows.

So she walks night and night and night on end…

The day Katrina threw herself from that widow’s walk down to the floor
Was the day Sir Joseph Cameron and his lost crew washed up on shore

    (verse 1)
said your founder he crossed the sand
    searching for a promised land
found an oasis and made a stand
    now known as Jerusalem
settled down and claimed the land
prayed to his God to bear him a man
so much time passed thier bodies grew old
do you know how the story goes
    .
    (chorus)
    one man twelve tribes
all derived from the same bloodline
a symbol of faith showed he'd let them die
do you know the answer why
    don't fight unite
take his wrongs and make them right
for thousands of years it has always been
punish your brother for his fathers sin
    .
    (verse 2)
    laid down with his concubine
    started his bloodline
soon after Sara bore him a son
rightful heir sent on the run
from this action it all begun
it's why they fight for Jerusalem
    .
    (chorus)
    .
    (verse 3)
the temple mount is where Isaac was bound
mount moriah it can be found
he could have ended all of our strife
with one blow from his knife
    instead a goat was sacrificed
a sign for God to spare his sons life
and now we live with this day and night
    declaring it wrong or right
    .
    (chorus, end)

    I can't see past yesterday
and I'll walk right threw tomorrow
there has to be a better way
I can tell by all my sorrow
must write my mind running out of time
the only witness to it all
pretend I'm fine my mouth I bind
    all to fortify my wall
    .
    always misunderstood
    missed my true intention
    never sounds like it should
so I plead for my own redemption
can't iterate my minds own state
I'm alone my one true friend
this is my fate there's no debate
knowing that even this will end
    .
you can't change what is in my soul
I hide my true self but you'll never know
expecting pain from a world that's cruel
and so I shield myself in my solitude
    .
washed my hand from all that rains
    forgive us sons and daughters
gotten use from all this pain
    expect no help in others
and though they'll try can't realize
the wind blows towards the storm
I've set my course with no remorse
and yet you'll be there in the mourning line this I know

well I stepped right up to the plate
and I went down swinging a little late
with eyes wide open how time flies
I took my eyes off the prize
I dropped the ball on fourth and goal
it's not the first time don't you know
I've been a looser for so long
    when I'm right considered wrong
I've been knocked down more times than not
turned to drinking they say a lot
    that stopped working need more
I lost my job and now I'm poor
so if there's one thing that I've learned
you can't trust noone or you'll get burned
it's kind of lonely after awhile
when your life is full of denial
so I stepped right up to the plate
and I went down swinging a little late
with eyes wide open how time flies
I took my eyes off the prize

The first and only ive written:

    VillainY

She opens her eyes as if from a dream,
Her gaze passes through the crowd,
    Noise beats upon her breast,
The beast recoils from her sight,
    Ashamed and angry it twists,
The recoil and revolt spin it to new frenzy,
    Joy and shame entwined,
The foot of the beast bares its frail components,
She looks away to spare the beast,
    The beast roars then lunges.

    (Chorus)
    drop dead my friend
    this is the end
    I caught you with her
    inside my bed
    you were my brother
    wound up her lover
    I blew your cover
    drop dead my friend
    .
    (Verse One)
    well I should have known
you were always at our home
    when I was working late
    you didn't hesitate
    by the time I realized
it was something that I denied
had to see it with my own eyes'
    so I set the bait
    (Chorus)
    .
    (Verse Two)
I filmed you in my room
that is what sealed your doom
I seen right threw those lies
    it's time to die
    I snuck into my house
    stepped over her silk blouse
I knew what I would find
    one thing on my mind
    (Chorus)
    .
    (Verse Three)
    I busted down the door
I threw her to the floor
he got up in my face
    oh what a disgrace
I told him he should run
that's when I pulled my gun
    my face was beaming red
and this is what I said
    (Chorus, end)

    (Chorus)
    you can't deny
    progress moving threw the world
    and those that tried
    lost the battle left behind
    happens to be
    a product of society
    to acquire more
at the expense of the poor
it will not stop until we've purchased all their brand new fangled things
the cost of moving forward is our self-sufficiency
    .
    (Verse One)
the world we live in is a very dynamic place
we've seen more change occur than any moment in space
sent a man to the moon, fought two world wars
now the fall of communism, that opened door
markets in Asia have opened to the west
manufacture all our goods their cheaper than the rest
    (Chorus)
    .
    (Verse Two)
many years ago my grandpa used to say
he'd work in deathtraps nearly eight-teen hours a day
until they organized and fought for a better way
he put his life on the line to insure I was fairly paid
now they say the unions have outlived their cause
took back all his benefits and changed the labor laws
    (Chorus)
    .
    (Verse Three)
there was a time when a man lugged coal all day
by the end of the week he wouldn't even get paid
he worked off credit that he gained at the company store
just another way to insure that he stayed poor
well through progress that practice it was barred
took away the company store and gave them credit cards
    (Chorus, end)

Here is a poem I call "The Clue"

The Moon is singing (La Lune chanteusement); it is the same as the first time (la meme cadence donc, a premier fois).
The Great Wolf howls three times.

I stand on an enormous hill; I can see a vast expanse of velvet black,
stretching to an horizon which has pale lighted clouds above it.
I see great beasts, who have risen from the Deep to sport in the light, far away.

La Lune elle est tremblent, sa cadence une luminaire dedans l'axis d'une celeste; une harmonique choralesque et divinessement entende moi
The air sings behind, above, and all around me with the voice of the Wolf.

I not trying to be smart and I know you put a lot of effort into your work but I am curious as to whether the word "threw" is meant to be 'through'. Two poems in a row this word has appeared. Although it looks like it could be a mistake I think it adds something to the poem, you should include it in everything you write. This could be a signature word that people can use to identify your work.
