I love the silence in Will Barnet's paintings.

I saw this one in a store window when I was a kid, and was transfixed...as if by a mystical vision.

Dali always said from his earliest writings that he was actually a very bad painter in the context of history.

I've read all three of his autobiographies:

The Secret Life of Salvador Dali
    Diary of a Genius
    The Unspeakable Confessions

    His explanation follows:

Not when you consider he thought himself too intelligent to be a good painter.

I really don't believe I follow your reasoning here...

Watch the interview I posted for Dali's own explanation.

I had the joy of seeing this when it was at the High museum of art.
    What a show that was...

    H.R. Geiger always intrigued me.

My favourite painting is one called Flora by Titian. Unfortunately I can’t post images or links yet as I don’t have enough posts; when I have 20 posts I’ll come back and edit this post to insert an image.

I saw this one on the wall of a local publican's establishment. In the dreamy half-light, it filled me with mystical impressions of other worlds and other places where our conventional reality is turned on its head, and where the downtrodden are raised into our own stratum of priviledge and possessiveness.

    Dogs Playing Poker

Then I just pushed open the door to the loo, went in and had a piss.

But is that a fucking cat in the lower right? Tell me I'm wrong here.

Why do people find serious but unrealistic paintings appealing ?

Is that the one where you can see her garters?

Why do people find different foods more appealing than others?

Why do people find different books appealing?

Because we are all different and have different views, tastes and thoughts about everything. Imagine a world where only ONE type of art is being made, would you enjoy seeing only one type food being made or one philosophy?

I think Enmos isn't really a person to whom art in general has much appeal.

That's not exactly what I meant though.
    Eh.. perhaps you're right.

Why would you say that ?
