Nay Wad, I didn't ask for their race. I asked for their nationality... so that's the only acceptable bracket word there. However, most of them were not were not withholding their nationality because they were afraid of racism. They just didn't want their non-Americaness to be exposed in a discussion in which they bashed America. In their minds, letting everyone assume that they were dissenting Americans gave them more credibility.

For the record, I'm American, and I'm not religious at all. My mother's side is all Scottish, she was Methodist turned Catholic, and my dad's side is all German. I'm white with brown hair and blue eyes, and I'm 6'1 and 165 lbs or so.

    Any more questions..?

Well, there's the fact that I've successfully use my Little Orphan Anny Secret Decoder Ring to translate your gibberish into English!

    Surely that deserves some applause.

Bashing the crowd that is pleased to continually advertise the fact (or at least the claim) that they are American, is not the same thing as bashing America.

Noting the superiority, in sense and intent, of most of Sam's postings to those of her more personal and obsessed critics, is not the same thing as taking SAM's side - let alone always taking SAM's side.

Admitting to believing that people conceal their non-American status on this forum in order to pretend to some desirable status they don't deserve, is a kind of embarrassing revelation of self, and I applaud the honesty - a bit tentatively, though.

On second thought, you need to go back and reread my post. You didn't understand it.

    Cesspool would suffice, as well

Or the Cesspool. I've noticed that quite often, when the original complaints fall through, people just pile on anyway. This discussion, vis á vis the complaint, was over before it started.

I remember this great (horrifying) story I heard from a former girlfriend's mother, back when I was in college. Seems the father ... well, okay. The neighbor, my girlfriend's aunt, had this dog. And it was, well, it was stupid. Nice dog, but dumber than a brick. One day it got cornered in the yard by a possum. So—and this story was told in front of the father, and he didn't correct or object—the dad gets a .22, goes outside, shoots the damn possum. Puts a couple rounds in it. Possum keeps coming. He retreats, gets a 30-06, puts a round in it. Slows the possum, but doesn't kill it. He retreats again, gets his shotgun, and pulverizes the thing. Yet what remains of the fore section of the possum just kept trying until all the life was gone. The father's assessment at the end of the story: "Damn possum, too stupid to know when to die."

Cockroaches are the same way. First time I saw a really big cockroach, my brother and I dropped a cinderblock on it. Three times. Damn thing just wouldn't die. (What? I was eleven. What did anyone expect me to do in the face of a bug that size?)

    Well, I would. :m:

Its a simple matter of respect and common decency. Something that is severely lacking these days, and ultimately reduces to ignorance.

We could discuss whether it may be the result of constant American interference, aggression and slaughter of our Iraqi friends? Not to mention the plight of our Palestinian brothers? And our Lebanese, Syrian, Afghan, Pakistani and Iranian brothers? And perhaps the assumption that every person of ME appearance (yes, even Mizrahim) is a vile terrorist?
Of course, and balance this with some anti Iranian and anti Muslim, Christian opinions of apocalyptic doomsday scenarios.

Okay. So the same-sided anti-American stance we are seeing from you (all) is born of ethnic solidarity and emotional bias. Strawdog, I wish everyone could have just been as honest as you from the beginning.

I can`t speak for all,but perhaps the stance has simply to do with a sense of justice. :m:

Now you see why no one took your question as in good faith - it wasn't.

    They were right. Again.

Guess my ethnic solidarity and emotional bias, then, as I point out that nothing SAM posts is as screwball and thread-spamming as the majority of the complaints about her.
The "confusing" part is the part quoted: "They just didn't want their non-Americaness to be exposed in a discussion in which they bashed America." Whatever did the lad mean by "exposed"? That seems to imply concealment, the discovery of something lowly or damaging. But he claims not to have meant such. So we have a bit of a mystery.

Its difficult to explain a sense of justice to those who have no concept of it. Or at least no concept of it outside their own circle. Note the implication of ethnoreligious solidarity, my dear Arab non-Muslim brother.

And how do we know that those who explain to us sense of justice have that sense in the first place, or justice from the same point of view?

    Back on topic:

Although I agree SAM lies in wait and chums for a chance at ati-Americanism, in general her posts are well thought out, coherent and usually backed by citations. My only problem with her lies in a dificulty to get her to answer a direct question, sometimes.

All in all, SF wouldn't be the same without SAM, so let's leave well enough alone. Can you imagine the fortitude it must take to come back here day after day and face this shit? If someone insults me, it takes at least an hour to get over it, if it comes from someone I respect.

Y'all are on her 24/7 - give it a break already!!!

I join the Americans who support SAMs right to be here, nay, desire SAMs presence here. I don't agree with at least half of what she says, but what fun would it be if we all agreed?

Remember, this is an internet forum people! We are supposed to be exposed to alternative thinking! Plus, we have lost enough colorful members as of late, do we really want SF to emulate the Borg? Resistance is futile, you will be absorbed...

Okay, one more time for the socially inept.

Where did I claim that Sam was a Nazi/sympathizer? You're the one putting that forward, so it's for you to put up or shut up.

And at present, you are the one acting like a troll. Don't push me gustav.

And yes, that is a mod warning.

Okay, sycophant, since you lack reading and comprehension skills, my point to Sam was based off her own words. I would suggest you read through the rest of the thread and see her response to my proposition that she may just not know the details behind the Holocaust, because she has or had no real interest in it aside from how similar it might relate to the plight of Palestinians.

That you are acting like a fool and a troll? Yes, that I know.
