I'll start with this one; it's why you can't swim off the coastal beaches in North Queensland in summer.

The Box Jellyfish is also known as the 'Sea Wasp' s a dangerous creature that inhabits Australian waters. This Jellyfish has some of the most extreme toxins in the world present on its tentacles, which when in contact with a human, can stop cardio-respiratory functions in as little as three minutes.

The box jellyfish is responsible for more deaths in Australia than Snakes, Sharks and Salt Water Crocodiles.

The creature has a square body and inhabits the northeastern areas of Australia. The tentacles may reach up to 80 cms in length. It is found along the coast of the Great Barrier Reef.

    The Taipan
The taipan is a large, fast and highly venomous snake often found throughout Australia. The taipan has the most toxic venom out of all the species worldwide, has a dark brown color and is often found in sugar fields where it hunts for rats. The snake is usually found in the far north of Australia, in Queensland, the Northern Territory and Western Australia, where the winter is mild. Taipan’s usually stay away from people but once cornered or threatened, they strike several times.

    Blue Ring Octopus
Another serious threat for those that wish to explore the waters of Australia is the blue-ringed octopus - one of the most toxic sea creatures in the world found off the coast of Australia, New Guinea, Indonesia, and the Philippines. Even though the octopus is only the size of a golf ball, there is no known antidote for its powerful venom. It causes motor paralysis, eventually leading to cardiac arrest. First aid treatment consists of pressure on the wound and mouth-to-mouth breathing that can last for several hours.

    Stone Fish
Known as the most venomous fish in the world, the stone fish lives on the bottom of the reefs, camouflaged as a rock. It lives above the Tropic of Capricorn but can be found in the Queensland Great Barrier Reef as well. It’s venom comes from the dorsal area, that is lined with 13 spines, causing shock, paralysis and tissue death depending on the severity of the sting. First aid consists of immobilizing the venom by bandaging the affected area then applying a hot compress. The pain is said to be so excruciating that it lead to amputating the affected limb.

Hippos are highly aggressive animals who are often thought of as docile, lazy bathers. Their mouths can open to 4 feet and they will not hesitate to attack humans. Despite their stocky build, hippos are incredibly fast runners and can easily outrun a human on land. It is
inadvisable to come between between a hippo and its calf or to block it off from deep water. Like bears, hippos do not react well to being surprised so making noise to alert them to your presence is wise.

These tiny pests are not only annoying, but they are incredibly efficient at spreading disease and so easily earn their spot at number one. Mossies spread malaria and elephantiasis, yellow fever, dengue fever, and West Nile virus. The latter was introduced to North America by the mosquito and is now prevalent throughout. Mosquito nets are the best way to protect yourself. Kills an average of 2 million people per year around the world.

The Polar Bear and Grizzly Bear

We all have seen bears on the pics but meeting them in real and on their territory can lead to the death, the polar, black and grizzly varieties are deadliest. Bears are big animals that can swim, run fast ( up to 50 km/h), climb the trees and they eat everything from berries to meat. Though usually they are afraid of people, they can become very aggressive if being hunted, protecting their kids and just coming to your camp to get food.

If you faced the bear this doesn’t necessarily mean that it’ll attack you. Sometimes it can just demonstrate that it’s attacking but if you see the bear running to you and there’s no place to hide or there’s no the tree to climb, don’t turn away to run and don’t show you’re scared. Look at his eyes as long as you can, the bear may turn away at the last moment. You can shout and if you have a gun you can shoot into the air. Don’t shoot the bear if you are not sure this will kill him. The wounded bear is much more dangerous and the animal becomes fearless.

I heard you should run down a steep hill and then stop suddenly, because of their short front legs apparently they can't stop themselves tumbling down the hill.

Of course the person who told me that didn't tell me just how fast a pissed off bear can run up a hill.

I know from personal experience it works with Black Bears.
He was running toward me. (it was my fault, I saw him from far away and thought it was a big dog that got separated from its owner)
I didn't have a gun, but I charged him and made lots of noise yelling and whistling.
He stopped short, looked confused then turned around and ran away.
    Thankfully!

I thought there were two much more poisonous snake then the Taipan, one is the Fierce Snake (Oxyuranus microlepidotus ) which is the most poisonous snake in the world, it is also called the inland Taipan so that’s probably why you thought it was number one in the poisonous stakes.
It’s brown or olive in colour with black markings on the head or it can have a uniformly black head.
The venom injected in a single bite from this snake is sufficient to kill 100 adult humans. Its up to 2m (6ft) long.

The Taipan (Oxyuranus scutellatus) is the third most poisonous and the second most poisonous is the Common Brown snake (Pseudechis australis )

    Sydney Funnel-web spider

Funnel-web spiders are the world’s most deadly spiders in the world and are found in coastal and mountain regions of eastern and southern Australia.
Funnel-webs are large black spiders with a shiny head/thorax. The body may range from 1.5 cm up to more than 5 cm long depending on the species.
Female funnel-web spiders are stockier than males, with shorter legs and a bigger abdomen, which may be brown or bluish. The eyes are small and closely grouped, the fang bases extend horizontally from the front of the head and the long fangs lie parallel underneath.
The Sydney funnel-web spider is the most dangerous spider in the world and will defend itself aggressively if threatened or frightened. For this reason, humans are strongly advised not to approach them. Chances of being bitten are high if encountered, and bites can be lethal within 15 minutes.
Funnel Webs have been known to leap up to 2 meters, when cornered in order to attack an unwary intruder.

Hi Shawty have you ever heard about "Drop Bears"?

Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!

Drop Bears are not cuddly and friendly, like their cousin the koala. They are vicious, calculating, cold-blooded killers. Their usual method of attack is to select animals which stray from their group, including humans, dropping down onto them from above. They then proceed to wrap themselves around the body of their prey, squeezing them to death, often crushing the rib cage and breaking the neck. Occasionally when hunting, and when threatened, the Bears will drop down in front of, and then challenge their prey, snarling and flashing their sharp claws and teeth, before ripping their prey to shreds with their powerful arms and legs. Of all the ways to die in the bush, this would have to be the most horrible. Arms and Legs are torn from the body, along with huge slabs of flesh, which are greedily consumed while the victim still lives. If seen, Drop Bears should NOT be approached, as they are easily frightened and likely to attack. Vehicles are known to have been attacked, and being in one is no defence. An adult Drop Bear is able to easily break windows and enter vehicles to extrude would-be meals.

Contrary to what most people say, the most dangerous animal in the world is not the lion or the tiger or even the elephant. It's a shark riding on an elephant's back, just trampling and eating everything they see. - Jack Handey

    I guess it's from drinking Foster's.
