If you don't need to use your own ammo, and can use their ammo against them? That's pretty much the outside-the-box tactic that first came to my mind: If the argument is that weapons won't be strong enough, kill them by other means. Either that or the other favorite, snatch the ground right out from under them and let them fall into a big hole, then rematerialize the dirt and rock back right where it was. Or beam a shitload of water into the dirt and make a mudpit or quicksand...

You ever see The Philadelphia Experiment where people were half-embedded into the deck, and there's a Next Gen episode (In Theory) where a chick was half embedded in the floor... lot of fun shit you can do with transporters. Beam floor out, victim falls in, floor rematerializes.

Many of the contributors here have time and again pointed out scenes where the insane power levels you claim cannot be true. Of course since canon characters on Star Wars have yet to say "turbo lasers are so-and-so megawatts", there's no on screen numeric confirmation.

At any rate, this challenge is ridiculous. The burden of proof is on you. It is unreasonable to state a claim them challenge your opposition to disprove it. It is akin to stating that the Eiffel Tower is in Saudi Arabia then telling a largely untravelled American citizen to disprove the claim.

You don't REALLY expect Scotch to back up his arguments with actual facts and data, do you?

    *weak attempt to revive thread*

Situation: The borg have used their nanite strategy (flooding an atmosphere w/nanites) on a few planets near the trans-galactic wormhole. The Empire is not aware of what the borg are and their capabilities and Starfleet is not capable of reaching the area in time to warn anyone (be it long distance or battle damage).

How long will it be until the borg can gain control of the area? If they do, what side will be able retake the wormhole? How much time and resources will that side need?

Only thing Trek needs to end it: Voth, 8472, Voyager (lol), or a fleet of Defiants

That's pretty accurate, but remember. Size is NOT everything. Trek has the advantage in:

    Sublight Speed
    Agility
    Firepower
    Shielding
    Weapons Ranges
    Sensor Ranges
Tactical FTL (warp is much quicker to use and use for short hops than HyperSpace)

Star Wars has the advantage in:
    Numbers...
    Expendibility of Ships
    Expendibility of People

Add in the Jem'Hadar, though, and the numbers and expendibility quickly shifts back to Trek as the Jem'Hadar are grown in, what, weeks? Fully trained!

Heh, SW ships are a dime a dozen.

Jem hadar are a penny for an armada

No, I was contemplating making a sort of diagram...
See, this ties in with the image here which I ask if anyone has actually seen one of them. Do you recognize it? Of course we see them all the time but I've never seen one quite like this. I want a Star Wars fan to show me a pic or video of one of these.

Thing is, it's upside down, the image is actually flipped. Im trying to imagine what would be protecting the underside of an ISD. I've never seen what kind of weapons that have a clear shot at something underneath.

None, AFAIK. To be honest, I don't think they have anything that can fire below their centerline except on their dorsal side. And that means that, short of shooting THRU their ship... nothing can be shot that's under them...

which leads me size accuracy image, cuzz I was going to have a funny pic of starfleet ships underneath just yapping about what they should do with that solar ionization reactor bubble sticking out underneath.

"Sensors detecting extremely high energy levels..."
"Well we probably shouldn't blow it up... not while we're sitting here."
"Hows about... we set the yield of a few warheads to blow the living hell out of it AFTER we put some distance between us?"
"Time delay, yes of course! Well how are we going to keep them attached to the hull??"

Well, the Galaxy class is one of the largest Federation ships... a Sovereign or Prometheus is more powerful and much smaller
