I'm quite an art enthusiast. My favorite artist is Pablo Picasso. The walls of my house are nearly covered with the prints of his incredible work. I don't know how to show the pictures in this forum (give me a chance to get the hang of how this all functions). I love abstract and surrealism. My other favorite artists include: *Joan Miro (althought I am going off her work a bit) *Juan Gris *Marc Franz *Salvador Dali *Kandinsky (some of his at least) By the way if ANYONE can track down where in the world (i dont care where) I can find Picasso's "Bottle of Pernod (Table in a Café)". 1912. Oil on canvas. The Hermitage, St. Petersburg, Russia, I will be your slave for ever!!! I don't think it is available in print for purchase, but i sure as hell wish it were.
not sure where you can find a print of it, but here's a picture http://www.doupine.com/paintings/quality/dp1529.jpg

IXL777 - which version of the Shepherds of Arcadia are you looking for? Which one do you like better? ---------------------------------------------------- I also like surrealism, my favorite one has to be Magritte's Empire of Light.
...'she' would have been really pissed off to know that Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! I like the Da Vinci cartoon of The Virgin and Child with St. Anne and John the Baptist, a chalk and charcoal drawing that would have normally been transfered to panel for painting. This one didn't make it, but is a stunning work in its own right. http://161.58.208.54/artchive/l/leonardo/leonardo_stanne_cartoon.jpg
heres some of the ones that people mentioned on the thread LE BERGERS D' ARCADIE- POUSSIN / Shepherds of Arcadia http://www.renne-le-chateau.com/poussin/images/berger_b.jpg
about James Abbot McNeil Whistler. heres a site with a few of his paintings...didnt want to put all of the images in the forum for those users w/o broadband. here's the link... http://counseling.outpost10f.com/~guilds/artists/gallery/jwhistler/whistler.html here's one that is not on the site, 'The Little White Girl' http://www.exittoart.nl/whistler/whistler05.jpg
I really like surrealist art, the works are so cool! I have a print of one on my door, it is a picture of raining business men, can anyone tell me what it is called? Another genius piece is 'Le Bon Bock' by monet! Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
I love Magritte. Definite favorite of the surrealists. Hmm, also the Symbolists and the Baroque: Artimasia Gentilesci - Judith beheading Holofernes http://www-lnc.usc.edu/~brannon/pix/artemisia-gentileschi/judith-slaying-holofernes.jpg
I like modern art. Anything in the 20th century because I can easily relate to it. Older art deals too much with Christianity, and I get bored of that really quick. I do like Blake... although it is someitmes straight forward, the pure awesomeness of his ideas strike me. My favorite types of art involve the actual reality around me (body painting, photography). I will like any type of art, I just dont understand alot of it. My favorite artist would have to be a surrealist, but I dont pick and choose. They all had bright and sharp minds.
Circe....no.1..If you can find it I will be grateful..thanks DominicPlease Register or Log in to view the hidden image! Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
