In Tom's defense he's dealing with an exceptional mouse. Have you seen the episodes where he tries to hire "specialists"? They all fail. Tom is the only one with the guts to keep coming back, even when Butch keeps interfering. I'd probably have given up half way through the second season.
Are these people serious ? Theyt rooted for Tom as a kid? Did they not understand the shows made it an inevitable loss?
Lol. I always liked Jerry. He was such a little fucker. If I remember correctly he would even tease and antagonize Tom whenever he got the chance. Besides needing to steal to survive Jerry was just having some fun. What a boring existence Tom would have led if Jerry wasn't around. If Tom just loosened up a bit then who knows? maybe they would have been friends?
The amount of money he spent on Acme stuff, he could have just brought a pre-killed roadrunner. He should have studied economics. Or maybe we're analysing this too much?
That's a good point; I think Wiley - like Tom, in a way - was smitten with the principle of the thing. It was inconceivable that a lower order life form could defeat him, and so consistently, contravening the natural order of things. I wonder if that's the basis of my support for Tom: a kind of latent antidisestablishmentarianism.
I may not like how Jerry treats Tom but that doesn't mean I want Tom to catch Jerry or Wile E. to catch road runner.
Well since Jerry is highly anthropomorphisized, do all you Tom sympathizers also feel that a thief should be eaten alive by his captor?
Well, that's how we do it down our way. Are you saying you don't, Freud-boy? You know, sometimes a mouse being eaten by a cat is just a repressed desire for retribution and a reaction against the violation of social heirarchy.
