Because of how they don't respect there neighbors, and they threaten to use nukes to gain money from the west, if they would stfu and work with in inter national laws, we would probably help them.

But naw there little dictator wants to get us to help them through threat and lies.

Wait. So just because they aren't nice with their neighbors (like we were with Mexico once) they're terrorists?

Why should they work with international laws when they are clearly biased/selectively enforced upon weaker countries? So if you aren't part of UN that means you're a terrorist?

So Israel is a terrorist state? It hardly follows international law or abides by UN Resolutions.
    Peace be unto you

Hey, I am not in support of Israel's dealings with Gaza, nore am I against. if palistan had the upper hand here i am sure they would be doing the same.

But if i was a Nation with all of my neighbors against me, I Think I would say the fuck with laws as well, if they meant the safety of my people.

So its a terrorist state... you think NK is developing nukes for the heck of it? You don't think US is their enemy- what happened with the democracy vs communism debacle.. US clearly has negative tone towards them- so they can't develop it for self-defense?

US seems to the major country threatening other countries at the moment.

    Peace be unto you

Nope, it is what I believe from my experiences serving in the armed forces.

we might use lethal force, but at least we try to keep civilian casualties to a min, accidents do happen.

I reached my conclusions after personally witnessing the apathy of Americans in my four year stay in the US. Its amazing how little they know or care about people in the countries they destroy. There are the occasional discussion groups but words words words, no matter how profound, don't bring back the dead or stop the torture and killing. Its just mental masturbation, mostly after the fact and with little apology or accountability. Even rebuilding the countries they tear down is guided by future profits rather than remorse. They don't know the history, they don't know the religion, the people, their culture, their art or literature, what makes them happy, what they live like or what they want, but they discuss them. I'll never forget attending the presentation put together by Iranian students where they wanted to talk about Iran and its people and the Americans kept cracking jokes about bombing Iran. These were academics and graduate students, mind you, peaceniks. They did get all righteous when one conservative got up and talked about Iranians killing Americans [where? when?] but their own lack of perspective was invisible to them.

Now thats a thought. Perhaps you should read my posts on the subject.

I was banned for a month so couldn't participate in this great thread. Muslims have been very naughty while I was gone. LOTS of terror attacks all over the world. Here's the last few days:

2010.07.18 (Sargodha, Pakistan) - Six Shia worshippers lose their lives, and several others are dismembered when a Sunni suicide bomber visits their mosque.
2010.07.18 (Kabul, Afghanistan) - Sunni fundamentalists take out three civilians in a bomb attack.
2010.07.18 (Balasim, Iraq) - Nearly fifty people are shredded into pieces by suicide bombers striking two crowds.
2010.07.17 (Tuz Khormato, Iraq) - Two boys are murdered in what is thought to be a sectarian bombing.
2010.07.17 (Tebessa, Algeria) - Four people are killed in a suspected al-Qaeda bombing.
2010.07.17 (Jos, Nigeria) - Children are among eight Christians hacked to death in their homes by Muslims, who also burn a church

    Most Terrorists Aren't Muslims?

    Check this out (really surprising):

    http://www.loonwatch.com/2010/01/terrorism-in-europe/

Islamophobes have been popularizing the claim that “not all Muslims are terrorists, but (nearly) all terrorists are Muslims.” Despite this idea becoming axiomatic in some circles, it is quite simply not factual. In my previous article entitled “All Terrorists are Muslims…Except the 94% that Aren’t”, I used official FBI records to show that only 6% of terrorist attacks on U.S. soil from 1980 to 2005 were carried out by Islamic extremists. The remaining 94% were from other groups (42% from Latinos, 24% from extreme left wing groups, 7% from extremist Jews, 5% from communists, and 16% from all other groups).

But what about across the pond? The data gathered by Europol strengthens my argument even further. (hat tip: Koppe) Europol publishes an annual report entitled EU Terrorism Situation and Trend Report. On their official website, you can access the reports from 2007, 2008, and 2009. (If anyone can find the reports from earlier than that, please let me know so we can include those as well.)

The results are stark, and prove decisively that not all terrorists are Muslims. In fact, a whopping 99.6% of terrorist attacks in Europe were by non-Muslim groups; a good 84.8% of attacks were from separatist groups completely unrelated to Islam. Leftist groups accounted for over sixteen times as much terrorism as radical Islamic groups. Only a measly 0.4% of terrorist attacks from 2007 to 2009 could be attributed to extremist Muslims.

Islamist terrorism is still perceived as being the biggest threat worldwide, despite the fact that the EU only faced one Islamist terrorist attack in 2008. This bomb attack took place in the UK…Separatist terrorism remains the terrorism area which affects the EU most. This includes Basque separatist terrorism in Spain and France, and Corsican terrorism in France…Past contacts between ETA and the FARC illustrate the fact that also separatist terrorist organizations seek cooperation partners outside the EU on the basis of common interests. In the UK, dissident Irish republican groups, principally the RIRA and the CIRA, and other paramilitary groups may continue to engage in crime and violence.
Perception is not reality. Due to the right wing’s influence and propaganda, people mistakenly think that Islamic terrorism is the greatest threat to the Western world. It is even a commonly held belief that Islamic terrorism poses an existential threat–that the very survival of the Western world is at stake. Of course, the reality is that there are other groups that engage in terrorism on a much larger scale, yet these terrorist incidents are minimized. Acts of terrorism committed by Muslims are purposefully sensationalized and focused upon, culminating in the idea that “(nearly) all terrorists are Muslims.”

Terrorism from Islamic extremists is certainly a cause for concern, but it need not be an issue that creates mass hysteria. Nor should it be allowed to be such a critical issue that we are willing to sacrifice our ideals or civil rights for fear of it. Neither should we be reduced to a status of absolute sissitude. We have analyzed data from America and Europe (a good portion of the entire Western world), and the threat from Islamic terrorism is much more minimal than commonly assumed; in the U.S., it accounts for 6% of terrorist attacks, and in Europe not even half of a percent.

It is only through sensationalism and fear mongering that the topic of Islamic terrorism is allowed to be used to demonize a religious community that happens to be a minority in the West. When confronted by such lunacy, we ought to respond with the facts and the truth.

I know a lot Muslims. We go out drinking all the time. I know a lot of ex-Muslims too. They also think it's all a bunch of smoke and mirrors (War on Terror I mean). The funny thing is, the ex-Muslims also think "Islam" needs to be addressed. But not through vilification. But, there are some problems.

The problem with Islam isn't Terrorism. It's some of the core principals of Islam. These are the exact same problems found in Conservative Christianity and Orthodox Judaism. Any fundamental belief system really. Hell, fundamental Communism. So, IMM, it's like saying because most White Supremacists are peaceful people - we should tolerate their ideology (which may be completely peaceful). No, we shouldn't. Because it causes problems and we don't live in a World of only White people. We live in a multicultural world with lots of different people and different beliefs. We also shouldn't attack them outright either. Definitely don't legally ban their ideologies. What we need to do is educate them. Teach their kids that wearing a clan hood is insulting and shameful. Likewise with other garments of similar purpose. Of course, that takes a long time, and in the meantime we'll have to live with WS and many fundamental beliefs. Maybe it's just too long for most people in this day and age? Or maybe we're not at the point of calmly addressing the issues. If that's the case. Then expect more war.

I'd like to think we're getting there

    Compared to what, whom?

Quit the hating...why does everything written in a book have to be taken as gospel?.
