You might mean that the idea of God exists there, which doesn't mean God does.

Atop the chain of cause, the food chain, or what is He the top of?

Most claim He is at the bottom most place, creating all beyond.

All who exist now are fortunate, as well as all those come before.

'Spirit': undefined symbol. Does not compute.

Are you a lone wolf or something. O.K. don't read Ted Kasinski's manifesto. Have you never connected in thought will someone. Like Minded, Your wife for example? Spirit !! Love

Yes, in that 'spirit' is a real connection process to the real; however the word has other connotations, such as a new kind of magic material.

Doesn't matter how you put it.
If God didn't exist, at least in the mind, you would be able
    to forget Him.

I don't think you can, or will ever be able to.

Of course it matters. Imagination doesn't guarantee truth.

    Nor is 'forgetting' a criteria.

    How does it matter?

It may or may not be true to some, but it exists.
Everything we can imagine contains some aspect of truth,
it is impossible to imagine something which completely does not
    exist.

No it doesn't. The concept may exist in someone's head but that is not the same as the thing itself existing.

Really? Please show how this is true in any meaningful way.

    And this.

The last two appear to be complete suppositions.

    Dywyddyr,

I didn't say it exists in someones head.

    No.
But, can you give me an example of something that contains not one element of truth?

    Prove me wrong.

    I will accept it.

I agree, that's not what YOU said.
On the other hand where does something that is imagined exist if not in someone's head?

It depends what you mean by "not one element of truth" (i.e. back to my "in any meaningful way" comment). If I imagine you as a drug-dealer with 57 illegitimate children and an FBI record for murder how much of that is "truthful"?

You made the claim. Or are you claiming that the FSM, unicorns and the like do exist? Superman is real? Where was the first-ever jet plane before one was imagined and then built?

    huh? what?
are you saying that thoughts and imagination doesn't exist?

Of course thoughts and imaginings can exist, but they are not necessarily of what can really exist.

One can imagine giant redwood trees sprouting angel wings and flying around the world but doesn't mean that they can.

thoughts and imagination really exist and they exist in the real world unless you live in an unreal world.

i imagine giant redwoods sprouting wings and flying.

it's just semantics sciwriter. the key word here is tangible.
thoughts and imaginations are real but not tangible.

The thought is real, but is the subject of the thought real?

Actually, thoughts and imagination are real and tangible, as real brain operations, but what they are about or represent does not have to exist in nature.

    Yup.
The subject of a thought is about as real as the subject of a painting - or maybe less so.

uh oh, now you've done it.
correct me if i'm wrong but didn't you just state my thoughts of a flying redwood is an actual object?
this is great news! now i can think of all kinds of things into existence.
