It is...see if I wish to take the risk, I can make the choice to do so yes? I can chose to end my life. I didn't choice to do so, because factors influenced it, didn't force it, influenced it.
All you have to do to fly is get distracted at the last second while falling. At least that's what I learned in Hitchhiker's Guide.
Then your experiences, your surroundings, your upbringing, and yourself influenced the decision and changed the payoffs yes? Trust me bro, if you are brought up in a society where everyone is taught from childhood to attempt to fly when they reach 18 years of age, and if they succeed they never would be seen again...bro it will probably influence your decision making and your payoffs.

But if you really believed you could fly, then you wouldn't see it as a risk. I "believe" you are incapable of believing you can fly because you already KNOW that you can't.
No it isn't. You don't want to believe that you can fly because you believe that would end your life. That's what you're saying. From that follows that you do not ('choose' to) believe that you can fly because you do not believe that you can fly
Ah, I see what you did there. But, being open minded, if you saw someone flying, you'd have to reconsider your opinion. But you know that's very unlikely. See the parallel? Well, you might not, but that's how atheism is. Well, most. I won't generalize and say all.
I think I know that I can't, because I haven't tested it out yet, but I am pretty sure that I can't. I am capable of it, just as I am capable of committing murder, but my surroundings and the people I associate with influenced my decision making on that matter, to the extent where it is perceived as incapable. Well, you see I italicized think, it is because you don't know if YOU can until you tried it. For example, are you so sure that you cannot survive if you get hit by a bus or if I shot you in the head? Let me ask you a question, do you think you are capable of committing genocide?
It depends on what you think of the passage in the bible that says government comes from God. Our American Government comes from Religion. Hells bells anyway what was the little experiment by William Penn all about anyway ? Enactment of Protestant thoughts of freedom granted by God ? The right for you to worship as an individual instead of the pope doing it for you
The only reason I chose to believe it would end my life, is because I chose to consider my abilities and decide I cannot fly influenced by my knowledge of examples in the past. Trust me bro, you wouldn't believe the number of people that tried it after seeing Peter Pan...
If I saw others flying, then yes, I would have to reevaluate the situation. However, that has never happened.
I see what they are trying to get at. If I look at it from as closed to atheist as possible point of view, that is a sound analogy, that would only work under certain circumstances of both parties involved, but usually would be sound from that point of view.
It's a save stance in the utter absence of any evidence whatsoever. I'll reconsider my stance if some convincing evidence shows up.
That event influenced their decision, almost to the point whereas they almost certainly will not chose to do so. It can be compared as an analogy to an asymptote.
Ah, my friend, can you prove sugar is sweet and salt is salty, or sweet is better then bitter? Or your red is the same as everyone else's red? Your stance is that of most atheists as far as I know.
They were mostly Deists, but I don't see how they got what they designed from that. They went to extremes to keep religion out of it because they had seen what religion with gov't did to England.
