Oh yeah racism is alive and well . Harry Reid is a racist. That don't get the coverage like tea party bangers . Racist come in all colors too . We had an incident in Montana were a gay kid was beat to death or almost to death . Then we had a heterosexual almost beat to death down town Missoula cause a bunch of farm boys thought he was gay. It opened the eyes of many Missoulians. Yeah alive and well . It is not only about color . It is also about statis in life . The well to do looking down on the less fortunate . Thinking of people as being sub human by there station they are forced into by society . Think about it ? Would a bunch of white boys beat Collin Powell's ass if they caught him in a dark alley . I think not , I am sure He be like Rambo on there asses . Maybe not . He is getting old . Old people fight smart though so he might take a part of em down with him .

Rooting out prejudice is a slow methodical process . It will be achieved some day . I doubt it will happen on our watch . We will be doing good to root our our own prejudice in our own times individually . It is hard to see your self for what we are . We think we have no prejudices except there is always someone getting left out ( sometomes getting kicked out ) As long as there is exclusions of people there will be prejudices . You think the rich and the poor criminal have some issues that way ? Hell we put them jail . I think that right there causes serious conflict . Criminals hate cops and cops hate criminals. That is the root right there . It in my opinion needs some evaluation . If you exclude people and make a class of privilege then the less privileged are going to get upset about it . That don't take Einstein to figure out. Our economic system lends well to excluding and that is not just a race problem . It is a people problem . We got a long ways to go Bro , but we can get there if we try . I have faith we can . Are you with Me !!

Lashing out uslessly comes in all forms . Lets take me example of when I was 14 . Now I come from a lower middle class family that rose out of extreme poverty . Me Grand ma didn't have a bathroom in the house and supported the family by being a maid for the more privileged until she got a job emptying bed pans for the hospital. Me dad relied on killing muskrats and the likes so there was food to eat . That was how poor Me roots are . So I was a dumb kid and ignorant to the races wars that existed . I had a friend of Jewsish heritage and his mom was so nice to Me it made Me feel excepted and euphoric that someone esle mom would be excepting of a dumb dyslexic German looking lower middle class child . They were we to do and it made Me feel included which was something I struggled with as a child as because of my strangeness was put into exile just by the strangeness that I was. I said to my friend it makes me happy that you Mom likes me . We my bubble busted . He said " She fucking hates you and is putting on the face. She don't like you coming over here and it is a good Idea if you see here car you just wake on . It hurt and I again started my loneliness walk of exclusion.

God I can be such a day dreamer

I come from a South American country were racism did not play importance .

Now I am in this country and I discriminate against some blacks , Now would you give me an opinion from tour side if you are black .
    Why I have become a racist ?
I am not in favor to harm any person , if a black person is in need I will
help them ( I really do help them )
But definitively I would not like to live among blacks.

they need to bring back the word "Prejudiced" which everyone is, from time to time.

Racism means you hate based on race/background, you wish those people so much ill will that you would harm them via:

    Violence
    Deny Income (don't hire)
    Deny Access
Anything that puts their general welfare in Jeopardy.

What I personally find extremely offensive and intellectually dishonest and will no participate in (to the point of losing a job if I have to - thus racist, is when people thikn it's "racist" to think for instance "White people can't jump" or old chinese ladies can't drive". Get a fucking clue.

    This and That

They need it to be, so they can continue behaving in a racist manner without being called racist.

    • • •

The word lost its punch at some time. And what, with the overlap in stereotype between Jews and Muslims and their respective ethnic heritages, it has often become more difficult to tell what is racism (long-nosed Jew, sand-nigger, &c.) and what is religious discrimination (Jewish world domination conspiracy, the dangers of shariah law in Oklahoma, &c.)

As such, many have just moved on to the catch-all word "bigotry".

Which, of course, results in a testing of the academic versus social definitions. A rainbow-and-sunshine happy hippie can be a bigot for insisting beyond rational boundaries that everyone should be happy. An anti-racist can be a bigot for fanatically rejecting any racial discrimination. But, at the same time, many people inherently understand the difference between the bigotry of insistent egalitarianism and the bigotry of exclusion and stratification.

The overall result seems to be a rotation of muddled words such as racism, supremacism, and bigotry; "prejudiced" seems to have gotten lost in the shuffle.

All though I swear the word became nearly petulant in its application as a verb; perhaps it is also a matter of public image.

yes i am black. and what reasons do you have not to live among blacks? the color of ones skin has absolutly nothing to do with what type of person they are

I don't think that's the reason the guy commented that way.

Some people are prejudice, it doesn't matter what colour they are. Even if they happen to be black, they might assume that everyone that isn't is a racist, they might even attempt to make it sound that way just to make it look like they are victimised so they can claim sympathy.

Those kinds of people are leeches on society, they attempt to utilise a social problem like racism for their own greed, to turn into a quick buck or undermine a person just because they want to feel empowered. These are likely the people the guy refers to.

The problem is that some people are too quick to stereotype, where a couple of people one one ethnicity might do this, the whole ethnicity is suddenly tarred the same. That's where it's incorrect, people obviously have to be dealt with based upon individual merit, one guy does not equal one people. (If that was the case 'a murder' would make every human alive 'murderers')

    There is no such thing.

What there is, is South American countries that refuse to aknowledge the important role that race plays.

This tends to become painfully obvious when people from those countries come to the USA (or wherever):

You didn't "become" a racist. You just never realized that you were a racist until you were put in a situation where you couldn't conveniently ignore such.

Racism comes from an inbred fear of anything that is different. We all have it to some degree. Education and experience helps us overcome those fears.

That is an old warn out story . The truth is it is harder for a black man to rise up in station in life . It is controlled by good old boy cronyism . People think well we got a token black man in office now so we ain't racist anymore.
Now I understand personal responsibility and all and to tell you the poor do have a little problem with personal responsibility. Probably cause there poor and can't buy there way out of trouble type things that all classes do . If they had money they could wipe away there sin with a good attorney. Think about that high profile case of what ever her name is ( Killed her baby) all O.J. like . If she was not high profile and made to be a spectacle of high media profits you think she would have got off that easy . Hell no I can't believe that . Different degrees of political correctness

There's always going to be people tat cannot understand that there are others that are different then them. Just because they are different they don't like them due to many underlying problems like their parents, their friends and who they listen to. Without help to show them that they are not thinking correctly there's no way they will ever change and it is best to just try and stay away from them if you can.
