Didn't you watch Popeye the Sailor Man? Fruit and Vegetables make you big and strong and handsome/pretty.

Wait, lots? How much is that. Like a whole pineapple a day followed by 3 bananas and an egg plant?

Keeps you "regular" with bowel movements and gives you many vitimins and minerals that your body needs to perform well.

Green leafy vegetables provide vitamin K1 and K2 that help strengthen bones (one of their lesser known properties). Plus, K2 may help reduce the progress of calcification in arteries and valves. Calcium tends to build-up everywhere when consumed without additional minerals and nutrients that insure it being utilized for bone growth.

I can't believe you said that ? It is true . You turn ornery. My first wife was orange from eating carrots by the bushel. Almost a yellow orange .

O.K. it is said that 33% of all cancer is from not eating enough fruits and vegetables. I believe it . Eat your veggies

Many birds derive the characteristic color of their feathers from the pigments in their food. The same species in a different region may have a different color.

    like flamingos!

I remember see a fish at a gutting station with bluish flesh and navy blue blood. My Dad said it was because it ate a lot of octopus and the ink gradually changed it.

anyone know if this is true? Is there a fish like that?

never heard of it . There is a blue cod like fish around Fort Brag Calif. that has blue meat that turns white when cooked . I don't know if it is quite a cod . It has Red skin . There locals around there know what it is . Very tasty Me and my Step brother caught on right there at the rocks facing the open sea right in Fort Brag . He caught it . I cooked it and it was gooood. It was blue flesh and a red skin . Could have been a type of cod ?

    @ Dywy,

I see Dywy spouting off again on yet another topic he knows nothing about just to be argumentative, and deliberately change the topic of the thread. .

    Why?

Nobody said Flamingos eat carrots, he said that their color comes from their diets. Try to read the posts before commenting. If you followed the conversation you would have seen that it was Orleander who said humans could change their skin color by eating carrots.

But Flamingos do get their color from food so you are WRONG again Dywy!

As far as the original thread question goes.... WoW! What a topic. There are too many health benefits from fruits and vegetables to be stated in a forum. Try google.

    @ Orly,

BTW, cuttlefish have blue-green blood, in case you're interested. I've tried keeping a few small ones in aquariums before - they never lasted very long. Often, they ink up the tank and kill themselves, so I quit trying.

I have managed to keep an octopus alive for several years though...

Horseshoe crabs have green/blue blood - it's copper based instead of iron based blood.
