If our Universe is having a mind, it will be a Perfect Mind. A perfect mind is in its state of no-mind. So, may be our universe is in a state of no-mind.

Mind is a God, friend. This idea of "no-mind" indicates you are a sociopath. Would you keep a man from minding, or being in love, etc? To say you do not mind means your fucking retarded, simple and plain. Maybe by "no-mind" you mean "clear headed?"

actually if our Universe had a mind , it is a mind that is finding its self

this mind lets things fall as they may , the combinations of elements , the galaxies , the planets , particle physics , quantum etc.

so not only are we understanding this mind , assuming that it exists , but also this mind is learning and maturing its self

Pool: Creation, hate, bravery, patience, nature, hope, morality, order, pride, show, consideration, mind, up, simple, eternity, time, hyper, efficiency, posed, exuberance, direction, friendship, fun, help, loyalty, peace, meek, understanding, thing, real, have, found, self, cell, matter, as it is, karma, one, best, great, glory, excellence, authority, wise, more, please, thanks, welcomed, all...

    Loves I have identified:
    Love & Perfection
    Pacifism & Confidence
    Fait & Wish
    Science & Logic
    Know & Imagination

    Helled:
Tempt, temptation, temptation, temptation, murder, rape, theft, the taker, the getter, got 'em, not, evil, hell, dogma, pessimism, death, weak, stupid, wrong, fruit, bitch, jackass, gangstershit, anarchy, wrath, deception, gross, awful, worst, end, stop...

Please feel free to add to these list, if you are conscious to the wise, the faithful.

As someone on the first page stated, we are part of the universe and we are conscious. It would not be far-fetched then to assume that the universe has some form of consciousness. I would think an atheist would have trouble arguing this point. Isn't it one of basic testaments of faith to assume that there is something separate from the universe?

This is where I find it so difficult to be an atheist. I don't need to argue that I'm conscious, to make such an effort seems futile because it should be as obvious to you as it is to me (that's not to say I haven't tried). If I choose to accept some form of dualism, I inevitably provide some argument to faith... anything that suggests that there is more than the physical must also concede that it cannot be measured in the same way physical things can. Then it becomes difficult to argue that there isn't a god or soul or, at least, something that can't be observed in the same way physical things can.

So I choose the philosophy most atheists do and I take the stance of a physicalist. Yet I face a question like what's presented in this thread and I find myself conceding to the same two conclusions. The first being, I am conscious and part of the universe therefore the universe must, in some way, be conscious of itself (dangerously close to the idea of god I think). Or, what I'm more inclined to believe these days, is that I am not conscious....and what I've come to accept as reality is nothing more than a very complex correlation between stimuli, biology and social interactions.

"No-Mind" is not absence of mind. "No-Mind" is a state of mind, where mind is perfect and perception is perfect.

Mind is something/interface in between our consciousness and physical body. So, universal-mind would be the interface between Universal-Consciousness and Universal-Body(physical universe).

Universal-Consciousness is not separate from the Universe, the way our individual-consciousness is not separate from our individual-self/being.

Here I think you are identifying yourself with your mind rather than consciousness.

I think we say it as to be minded. Mind, and Consciousness are brothers out there, they must be connected.

Silly scientist! The universe constitutes All. I want you all to sit down today and write down ten, to one hundrad faith's. I faith pretty girls, and morality that collects blood, and bones.

Im not sure we are all on the same page as to who Michael is.

    Good luck not believing, liars.

We live in a physical universe, dude.

You are not conscious? This is a nihilistic trait, what's going on?

A soon as a mind became cable of grasping the entirety of the Universe, "the Universe" would disappear.

I'm not sure, but I think you are stating the opposite what I am implying. I'm implying that to be "fully conscious" is to "know" nothing exists. Like the full color spectrum. Suppose we are viewing a square picture with a figure of a turkey in it. Now we can see the turkey because it is in only colors that our eyes can detect. But there are other colors within the picture frame that our eyes cannot detect because our perceptions are limited. In other words, we are not "conscious" of all the colors of the color spectrum. But suppose we were conscious of all the colors within the picture frame. In other words, what if we became more conscious of more colors? Well, the turkey that we thought was there, with the addition of more background colors to our senses, suddenly doesn't appear to be there anymore. So we suddenly realize all along, the reason we saw the turkey was because of a lack of consciousness and more consciousness was what made it disappear.

Mostly we are able to see only the parts of the universe due to limitations of our mind/perceptions. But if you can see the whole of universe, means you have heightened the perceptions of your mind; then the universe will not disappear but you will become one with the universe. You will feel oneness with the universe. This is a sort of self-realization state of mind.

Our individual mind also can be considered as a part of the Universal-Mind. Mind is something in between consciousness and the physical-body. So universal-mind can be considered as a link between the universal-consciousness and the Universe.
