Anti-arthritis Consumables

    What foods, vitamins, minerals, and things are good for preventing arthritis?

    And can arthritis actually be reversed?

    I also don't know if it works but a guy I know takes a teaspoon of hot sauce every night for arthritic pain. He said at first he didn't notice much change but he does now. He has now done hot sauce with a spoon for I think 7-9 months.

    I employ serious daily exercise to minimize the pain and motion limitations of widespread osteoarthritis myself. Got it from pro grade kickboxing, power lifting, power breaking and simply hauling around stuff that was way too heavy to move solo. I have a proper healthy diet so I don't know if that bears on it at all.

    Spinal arthritis. I have mild spinal arthritis that flares up every once in a while (result of injuries in the military).

    Interesting.

    I wish I could. My arthritis is in my upper back and neck. Even taking a jog for a mile or two locks me up the next day. No amount of Motrin in the world gets rid of that pain.

    A lot more ought to be put into stem cell research and then hopefully agedness itself can be truly be significantly reversed, and in the process degenerative diseases like arthritis could be reversed and cured as well.

    Getting the needed nutrients that can promote the joints' healing and health should help. One of the classics is sulfur, like from onions. I think trying not to go beyond the strain point of the joints is important as is not overworking them in general. I'd say if pain begins, then definitely take it easy. Also focus on building the muscle strength to support the joints.

    Any pain doctors attribute to arthritis . I have pain between my toes an my ankle and it was attributed to arthritis , I am finding that my walking causes pain , so I correct my walking and now I can walk a few miles , with no problem, I am getting to believe, as we age many of our problem rise of our posture . I wish some could explain biotechnically what is arthritis , to me the word arthritis is like waste basked " every unknown pain in the joints is arthritis.

    In the past several years, I have been paying a lot more attention to my diet for I was developing a lot of aches and pains which I attributed to my very physical lifestyle. ( I participated in the Yukon Quest Sled Dog Race, billed as the toughest race on the planet, three times, built a log home and several smaller buildings, trained young horses to saddle etc. incurring significant physical duress.) After going on an elimination diet, monitoring the results and modifying my diet, I am probably in better condition than I was 10 years ago.

    You may want to research gluten and dairy as having implications in many types of arthritis. Here are a couple of links if you are interested in pursuing this avenue.

    As far as dairy goes, I use butter and selected yogurt regularly and cheese occasionally. Both Hubby and I noticed a huge change when we dropped milk from our diet.

    Dairy and gluten are in the majority of processed foods by many other names. Here is a list of those names if you are considering limiting your dairy intake.

    We prepare most of our own food from basic ingredients. It's more work but gets simpler with some practice. Good luck on your quest to overcome pain. It has made a difference for us and others we know. The medical profession seems to be lagging in the nutritional field but this is not surprising, in my opinion, since both food and medicine are major industries.

    Whenever I need something as a cure, I go on Amazon, type the illness in and see what others use. There are 3 creams for artritis on Amazon, I actually use Penetrex for my lower back, and I am not sure if it is just placebo, but I think it helps. The other 2 are Sombre and Camellia.They are not expensive, give them a try...

    Since arthritis is inflammation, you might want to check out turmeric (curcumin). It is an Indian spice, you can even put it on your food, it has anti-inflammatory properties, I used to take it. If you do the search in the Health and Personal care department you will find a few arthritis pain relievers. Again, check the feed backs and try 1-2...

    Glucosamine is the advised product for joint pain, so try that one too....

    Honey and Cinnamon

    Cinnamon in combination with honey is effective in treating many ailments, including arthritis. For diabetics worried about cinnamon's potential negative effect on their blood sugar, it is not harmful if taken in small doses. To combat arthritis, mix 1 cup of hot water with two spoons of honey and a small teaspoon of cinnamon powder and drink once in the morning and once at night.
    Another option is 1 tbsp. of honey combined with 1/2 tsp. of cinnamon powder before breakfast. According to a study conducted at Copenhagen University, this combination helped 73 of 200 arthritis experience pain relief within the first week. Most of the other patients who suffered arthritis to the point that they couldn't move around were able to start walking without pain within a month of using this treatment.
