I somewhat enjoyed this movie but it has some tough issues for me.

SPOILER ALERT. Don't read if you have not seen this yet.

    1. The only real use for time travel is for criminals and assassinations? Credibility issue. At least as I recall the movie implies it is not used for anything else.

    2. Paradox issue. In the end his younger self kills himself based on what he sees his older self is doing or about to do. As soon as he is dead his older self ceases to exist implying he had no life after his younger self was dead. But that would mean he could never come back in time to do the things that led to his younger self to kill himself. It is a noble ending, but I sense it breaks a cause and effect sequence. I might just take the Janeway (Voyager) copout and state that trying to understand temporal mechanics is just too confusing.

I love time travel stories even though I know it will never be possible to travel back in time, they just tease the intellect to speculate - what if....

I watched it on Pay-Per-View and wished I had my 4 bucks back to watch something else instead. It was OK, I guess - I'd give it about a 3 on a scale of 10. But I'd still have rather spent my money AND time on something else.

I saw Looper and thought it sucked. It was non stop violence and Bruce Willits didn't show up until 30 minutes into the film and by then I was on my way out of the movie because the plot had little to do with time travel but killing people instead by sending them somewhere in time they couldn't be found. I know there was more to the movie but for all the violence I just didn't want to spend another minute watching crap like that. I would not recommend this movie to anyone other than those who enjoy gratuitous violence and indiscriminate sex scenes.

The whole premise of the movie was supposed to be that they couldn't murder people in the future and so have to send them back in time, yet the plot is driven by Bruce Willis's desire to save his wife from the thugs in the future who casually murder her. As they are coming to get him to send back in time, because they can't murder him. Seriously, movie? I mean, I can overlook plot holes and time paradoxes, but it's hard to overlook it when the main character's motivation directly contradicts the main premise of the story.

Next from the writers of Looper: Desert Lifeboat, the story of a brave space explorer who strugges to survive on a planet with no water after his sailboat sinks.

Also, since the stated purpose of the time travel was to get rid of the body, one has to wonder why they didn't just kill people in the future and send back corpses for the loopers to dispose of...

It was more of a love story, than a thriller or action movie. If you view it as such, it was good. And almost all time travel movies have a paradox....

I found it to be incredibly boring. And did they have to put all that crap of JGL's face to make him look like Bruce Willis? It was distracting

Once JGL gets to be more famous than BW, they will make Willis look like JGL...

What a coincidence, I watched ''Looper'' yesterday. I thought it was okay, started off quite slow but started to flourish ones Bruce Willis came in.

Is travel impossible? I don't know, but this guy seem to think it is. There are other links as well if you're interested.

    like what? new dentures?

That movie was superb although as the thread started has said paradoxically incorrect, lacks much logic.
