I worked with Melissa when this happened. She was very funny and pretty and well liked. I check the internet on occasion to see if I can find any information on the killer. This is the first time I have found a conversation about her. It was a very sad and tramautic day for sure.

You can write to her killer if you like. http://convicthouse.com/viewconvict.php?ID=4082 I have nothing to say to him. He removed a lovely young woman from this world because he was a jealous (expletive deleted).

Some people contact prisoners because they think it might help the prisoner. Some people do it because they think it might help themselves. And some do it because they think it might help the world. Before anyone contacts a prisoner they should decide if they fall into at least one of those categories.

    ????

I'm not quite sure why this thread has been started up again 2 years on. I'm not sure you're all talking about the same person...

I realize that you are a busy person, but a brief skim of the relevant posts will answer your question. While it has nothing to do with the core purpose of SciForums, at least two acquaintances of a young woman who was murdered have found out more information about the unfortunate circumstances of that crime due to this thread.

We are all talking about the same person. And yes, the internet has brought us together to share a thought about a lovely young lady.

I thought about writing Joshua. His profile is very self serving and smug. I would like him to know how his actions affected my life. My mom was dying young at the time and she had to learn about this violent act on her death bed while she was worrying about how I would go on without her.

If anyone is interested in more onformation about what happened please email me at moreikot at yahoo.

of course it doesn't have to be all about my sister, I intentionally titled this thread RIP for others who also lost someone to post.

btw, my brother in law who was married to my sister, whom I thought of as a brother, denied me the chance to visit and pay my respects to her and her family. said he didn't want me there.
needless to say.. that part of my family is now nonexistent. (still hurts to think about it)

The only family I have left is my daughter and her daughter.

In the last three years, a friend of mine has buried her brother, her best friend, her best friend's daughter (only 33, leaving a 12-year-old daughter), the fellow who became her new best friend, a dear friend's wife (also in her 30s, leaving a 10-year-old daughter), another dear friend's mother and another dear friend's husband. Only the last two were not unexpected--both in their 80s.

The BF's daughter was from a Catholic family but as an iconoclast she became a Wiccan. She had a Wiccan ceremony and it was kinda cool.

Oh, and my friend buried her own husband about 12 years ago. People ask me why I'm not afraid to hang out with her.

That is a bit freaky. I used to wonder about Angela Lansbury's character in Murder She Wrote. Every week she was in close proximity to a murder. One would think that at some point the word would get around that she was a very dangerous person to be acquainted with!

My sympathies are with you. I know it's rough.

If you're talking to me, thanks, but I don't need the sympathy because I actually didn't know any of the deceased personally. But I'll pass it along to my friend, who could sure use it.

We actually had to go to a funeral on Valentine's Day, because the snow was too deep to drive the day before when it was scheduled. That was bizarre.

Non religious ceremonies can be very interesting.
As human beings, we need some mark of passing, don't you think?
