Who here is homeless? I am! Greetings, I sometimes get some free time in front of someone's computer, but I'm a victim of the new world odor. It's a hard life but at least Obozo's drones aren't tracking my ass. They track you with implants in your teeth. Used to play drums for Henson Cargill.

I am homeless too, but by choice. I have a stable job and I am saving up alot of money for my trip somewhere, undisclosed.

yeah I buy cheapest tent in walmart and settle on safest location in town, usually mountains or by the lake. I just graduated and havent found career job yet, and my hotel job pays only 1500$ a month, I simply dont want to waste money on housing when I can enjoy nature.

Foreclosed houses are the best. No one follows up on the paperwork. Laws are nothing without enforcement.

I am not homeless, but I did backpack across Canada and landed in many cities with just the clothes on my back. It is true that some cities you only need a Bike/Sleeping bag and a sheet of plastic or a tent if there are decent soup kitchens.

    @ Your Eyes,

Squatting in abandoned homes is legal in some places, but unsure about local laws. If you were respectful of the property you would likely just be told to move along if caught. You stand more danger from the street crowd.

WARNING: While living this way in the summer seems like a Frolic because there is a thousand and one University students and graduates out hitchhiking everywhere they do thin out in the winter leaving rif raf and street urchins who will prey on you.

A legal way to live for free is to grab the cheapest boat with a bed and a toilet and anchor it offshore. Getting to and from it without a shipmate might prove difficult however.

I've hitchhiked through the rocky mountains and can tell people that it is best to be clean shaven, have no jacket on, and be wearing white if you want the quickest rides. Although my outdoor experience was decades ago.

Libraries/YMCA also should have internet access and if you can get a light netbook or small laptop you can get free wi fi at numerous places.

    @OP,

Being Homeless is not a great long term option. Just reading your Post sounds like you might have mild Paranoid Schizophrenia, and although the medication may have adverse side effects at least you could evolve into a home life. Nobody tracks anybody through tooth transmitters. Please take your medication and/or talk to a councillor about psychiatry in your area.

I have considered tent life but too much of what I do requires a recognized home address (even a PO box won't do), oh that and mosquitos suck.

Even a lot of folks who are "landed peers" are carrying a mortgage. Then again, where is there a homestead that's not subject to property tax? Except for the insanely wealthy it seems to be a somewhat subjective term.

I don't recall it ever being unscented.

I can see how you might hold a grudge against a champion for the homeless.

That might be true if a drone did not attack its targets by map coordinates but instead by the contents of a deed. And yes, you have a lot to fear from the man who lobbied to put you into a permanent residence. And with food, education and health care no less. I wouldn't trust him either if I were you. There's prob'ly land mines around the federal housing and arsenic in the surplus cheese.

As I recall that's a purely Republican invention, put into production in the Reagan/BushDaddy Star Warz years, based on the insidious invention they developed under the Nixon-Ford administration, then leaked to Hollywood by the pinko-yellow Jimmy Carter Democrats:

Damn. They've got you pegged for sure. Old school C&W musicians are first on the drone strike list. The good news is: vinyl 45s are transparent to their radar, and you can knock 'em out of the sky with a direct hit. No doubt that's why they're targeting you. I'd brush up on my discus throwing skills if I were you. Me? I'm heading for Nashville when Civil War II breaks out.

You need some help, Obama doesn't care about tracking you, there is no new world order and there are no implants in your teeth except posssibly inert fillings you may have had if you have holes in them. They don't have anything to track you with or any reason to track you. Please get some help

I am not homeless, nor do I go camping and pretend I am homeless. I will never ever ever ever be homeless for more than 1 night and that would only be because my house would burn down. Its nice to have an extensive family you can count on

I think I would make my way down to Southern California or Florida where it's warm if I were homeless. I don't know how the homeless get by here in Oregon. It gets real cold and wet here.

To the OP, if you're mentally ill and unable to work, there might be services available. Best of luck to you.

Except I don't think I would work at a hotel nowadays... there are much better things to do; however, a free hotel regardless would be something.

If you deliberately make yourself poor, then you can't complain about being homeless. So don't be surprised if you not only don't get any sympathy, but people start yelling at you.

Oh, and you won't be able to go on much of a "trip" if you give away all your money. It's not 1955 anymore. You can't sign up to crew on a tramp steamer to get to Hawaii and then sleep on the beach and eat free coconuts.

If he has enough resources (including sanity, which so far he has not displayed a large quantity of) to keep the place looking decent, so the neighbors don't complain, the authorities in many towns will give this a really low priority. This would entail, at a minimum: 1. opening an account with the power company so he can keep the lights on so it doesn't look vacant, and 2. (actually this is most important of all) MOWING THE DAMN LAWN. Even the neighbors might not mind having him around.

But otherwise, especially if there are any children nearby, he'll be in jail before he spends one night in that house.

I'm glad somebody said that. I didn't think it was my turn to be the voice of reason so soon again.

Los Angeles has always been Nirvana for the homeless. For starters, the weather is so mild and dry that you can sleep outdoors about 50 weeks a year. And then there's the population: fairly prosperous, quite liberal. It's not hard to panhandle successfully in L.A.

Oddly enough, another place where the homeless get along fairly well is here in Washington DC. Most of the residents are government employees who realize that they, too, are spongeing off of others, so they feel that they have to "pay it forward." The homeless people here don't have shopping carts, they have wheelie suitcases. And even though the winters get pretty cold, they all seem to show up with down sleeping bags.
