Ok, were going to debate History Channels "Ancient Aliens". I believe it is myth, and to some fanatice it is a religion. But if you beleive in the ancient alien theory, and believe it is based on science, here is your forum to debate it. ALso, those who beleive it pure bullshit can debate it as well.

Personally, I don't think there's anything to debate.

It's nothing but pure fantasy (along with a profit motive for a bunch of cranks who write and sell books).

The last two generations grew up watching Star Trek, Star Wars and such and as a result are already mentally primed to be receptive to such foolishness. Then when you ad in the reality of gene manipulation/genetic engineering, they have all they need to readily accept the ancient alien nonsense.

The whole show got debunked. ''Ancient Aliens Debunked'' is a three hour documentary which completely exposes the lies of the show.

    Here ya go...

If you have seen the dreadful History Channel series on “Ancient Aliens,” in which any artifact whatsoever is twisted into “evidence” for visitation by extra-terrestrial intelligences in our ancient past, you’ve probably been wondering where the rebuttal is to all these claims. Well, thanks to the erstwhile efforts of skeptic and Christian Chris White, this video is a complete analysis that will give you all the ammo you need to respond to people who breathlessly proclaim that they saw this “documentary” on the History Channel that offers “proof” of alien visitation. You can say, “not so fast!” And then tell them what we actually know about ancient history and aliens (and the lack thereof).

I don't see where the straw man argument comes in. He's not misrepresenting the Ancient Aliens nonsense, he's debunking it's claims.

We were educated that humanity came from evolving life forms. That is a straight progression from earlier lower forms to a sentient modern human being.

But that model may not survive for long when we come to awareness of intervention from outside that progression.

    Take for example this:

Black Knight satellite: - is a mysterious satellite, of unknown origin, discovered in 1960 which shadowed Sputnik. It is believed to have been of extraterrestrial origin, and signaled back old radio waves from the 1920s and 1930s before it disappeared. In short wave patterns analyzed by astronomer Duncan Lunan, it revealed its origin as Epsilon Boötes (or the star system as it was 13,000 years ago).

    - here is a discussion about Black Knight satellite

It was said to have signaled back old radio waves as early as 1920s. It may have just been named or visually identified in 1960. - it's confirmation does not rest solely on Sputnik:

" The apparent explanation finally came in 1954 when newspapers (including the St. Louis Post Dispatch and the San Francisco Examiner) reported an announcement from the US Air Force that two satellites were found to be orbiting the Earth, at a time when no nation yet had the ability to launch them. It appeared that Black Knight had been detected by multiple lines of evidence, and was confirmed by the US Air Force.

By 1960, both the United States and the Soviet Union had hardware in orbit. But on February 11, 1960, newspapers everywhere reported some alarming news: that somebody else also had something in orbit. A radar screen, designed by the US Navy to detect enemy spy satellites, had picked something up. It was described as a dark, tumbling object. It wasn't ours, and it wasn't the Soviets' either."
