    PsychoticEpisode,

    You most certainly did.
Now where is the evidence for this claim?

Oh! So now your definite claim has been relegated to ''I think...''? I'm confused.

From your perspective, sure. But unless you can explain or give evidence of your claims, you're in no position to tell me what my position is, unless you've actually passed through where I am, and are able to give some account of it, which you most certainly haven't, so far.

    Can you elaborate on this?

What other accounts are you familiar with?

    jan.

Jan....would you like a list of all Sun worshipping religions? I think you're smarter than that.

I say the word think to avoid making outrageous claims. It's just a personal POV. More people should do it. I think Theists for one might benefit from it's use.

Each and every interpretation of the Christian Bible is an account. You want specific sects or groups that differ from you?

    This.

This is a secular science website. It isn't set up to offer people of all faiths a "home" to evangelize.
It's one of the more hospitable and tolerant sites that I've seen as it relates to faith discussion, to be sure.
    (Which is pretty great!)

Am I preaching a religion in your opinion? Am I encouraging preaching?

It has to be terribly difficult for anyone to explain something when you have no factual evidence. It's like trying to put IKEA furniture together and realizing that you possess the parts, except none of them are included in the instruction manual.

The Inquisitions come to mind, but it's highly unlikely religious beliefs will be forcibly removed. Education seems to working just fine, slow as molasses due to the ongoing religious indoctrination machine churning out closed minds with belief systems as worldviews, but working, notwithstanding.

Agreed, but the question remains, will Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman return for the third Thor thequel?

I would highly recommend you remove your children from schools immediately and lock them in the house with a Bible. It's the only sure way to protect them from learning.

So one Christian group is representative of all religions?

There are different theories in comparative mythology, religion studies, and anthropology as to how religion and its accompanying mythologies came about. One perspective sees it as that prehistoric peoples created myth to explain the world around them, with gods developing as a concept to personify the phenomena they experiences. Another perspective focuses on the development of shamanism, wherein the mystic experiences of shamans were used as the basis of later myths, rituals, and religion--whether or not the things shamans experienced are real is irrelevant, what matters is that they perceived it as real, and made something out of it. The latter is becoming increasingly accepted among anthropologists.

And there are a variety of psychoactive natural plants and fungi. Some of these seem to take people into an altered state. (Not talking of experience here, but i did read the shamans used extract from Amanita Muscaria
    http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/5414929 many other sites too.

That some of the experiences are real is not out of the question. It is possible that they could have had both feet planted firmly in reality while having a mystical experience and making something out of it. Thus the mystical experience were as real as everything else in their surroundings which kept their feet planted firmly in reality throughout the whole thing.

    Hence, God is indeed real.

You must be terribly upset they are in school. Why would you allow that? Why haven't you removed them? Why are they not reading the Bible as their one and only book. You seem to be contradicting yourself here, or am I missing something?

Please, explain to me why I should reject that idea? Pretend I actually do know something about biology and chemistry so you will not need to dumb it down.

Reject which idea ? About soup or the ban ban. At the present science does not know but speculate . Should I accept the idea and pretend that I am scientifically oriented . How about if I say lets work and stop speculating.

Robbitybob1: I went back and read some of the posts you have scattered about this sub-forum. I was amazed to see how you seem to dominate it. It isn't that I think anything of what you say is worthless, it's just that I now have a good sense of whom I was dealing with. So after doing my homework I have decided that in good conscience I cannot continue our banter. I regret some of the things I have posted that contained subtle sarcasm or appeared to be of a personal attack nature. Why? I have my reasons, mostly out of compassion. To continue on in this manner contradicts what I do every day. Some people, make that a lot of people, need help every minute of every day but due to circumstances beyond their control, cannot be helped. These people for the most part can't comprehend their predicament. Don't know if you get my meaning but it doesn't matter. Let's just say that some things should have remained unsaid. You need this sub-forum more than I. Have fun.

I do appreciate what you've said and one day you too might care to explain your username.
Don't feel concerned for I am very well, fit and employed at this point in time.
