I'm going to go out on a limb and say it's the best show in the history of television. I used to think that mantle belonged to The Sopranos, but Breaking Bad topped it in just about every way.

Now that I think about it, I really liked Breaking Bad, but BattleStarGalactica, the one they made a few years ago, was just a massive adrenalin rush. I think I like that one better.

That's like saying everyone is an aunicornist because there are no unicorns.

That says more about you than me.

That's almost right. Everybody would be an aunicornist if nobody believed in unicorns. Lack of belief is the default position.

Unicornists and aunicornists can exist whether unicorns exist or not. Theists and atheists can exist whether gods exist or not.

The point is that the terms are redundant in light of what actually exists. We can therefore make up all kinds of terms in our imaginations for things that have never been shown to exist and they too will be as redundant and utterly meaningless.

You have good taste! Battlestar Galactica was insanely awesome. Breaking Bad was also really, really good, but there was a conspicuous lack of spaceships.

The terms are only redundant if we know for sure what actually exists. Most of us are pretty sure that no unicorns exist but there are a few unicornists. I don't know of any aelephantists or aFrancists.

Until we know for sure whether there are any gods, there will be theists and atheists. In that example, though, the nature of the beast suggests that we'll never know.

Sorry, but once again, you're basing your argument on anything can be conjured from the imagination, which is redundant. No gods or unicorns have ever been shown to exist, hence the terms are redundant and utterly meaningless.

On the contrary, if we had no terms for things that don't exist, we'd have no way of discussing whether or not they do exist.

For everything that does exist or could exist there's an equal and opposite term for its non-existence. Far from redundant, it's unavoidable.

Sorry, but that makes no sense. Conjuring things from our imaginations may be worth discussing, but they are still notions conjured from the imagination.

Really? Such as what? Abananas? Aautomobiles? Ahuman? Seriously, dude, you're grasping.

There are more witnesses to God, to Jesus and to spiritual realms than there are to the Higgs particle/Higgs field. Why should we believe in a Higgs field?

LOL. You mean there are delusional idiots for God, for Jesus and for spiritual realms.

    We now have some evidence.

We have witnesses to God because some people think about these things all day. If there was money in continuing a belief in unicorns there would be just as many people witnessing unicorns.

I'm not getting paid to witness God. Nobody is. I don't understand?

Religion has continued on for so long because of the nature of (some) religions. If you have doubt it's from the devil, God works in mysterious ways, you should attack the other side, etc. If you are a true believer you will donate money to the church.

Everything is set up for it to keep its members and to gain more. You're not being paid to witness God but in effect you are paying for that privilege.

If such a system were set up around "unicorns" people would be discussing, arguing, dreaming, talking to unicorns.

I'm paying for cable TV and internet access. I still don't understand your point. I can also meditate which doesn't cost anything, but I can still have good communication. If I choose to support my church, why is that a problem?
