It doesn't matter if it was mob violence or a justice system that acknowledges magic, like Saudi Arabia, the result is the same.

Magic is just free speech, freedom of religion, freedome of expression. Christians get thrown in prison all the time in Saudi Arabia. Magic has nothing to do with. Whether magic is real or not is completely irrelavent to the nature of governments.

My position is not that governments should outlaw the practice of magic, but that people should recognize it for what it is.

Why do we have to live in a world where magic is dead? It doesn't sound very fun or inspiring.

If you require magic for life to be fun or inspiring, you don't have a very strong imagination.

There are plenty of magicians you can go and watch.

I'm pretty sure you're going to need a very sophisticated language to describe an out of body experience.

Not necessarily. If they for example communicate via telepathic images.

Then even mice can do it.

I enjoy a show of magic like anyone else, I just don't believe there is supernatural magic.

What people call supernatural today will be neanderthal tommorow. When you know the process behind the "trick" it's not magic anymore.

Magic is dead? Since when was it alive? Never.

So, you believe in magic because it's sounds fun and inspiring. That's fine, but to try and convince anyone magic is actually real is just plain childish.

Over a hundred million Americans believe the earth is less than 10,000 years old despite facts to the contrary. 8 million is peanuts compared to that delusion.

Bebelina, the "tricks" performed by Magicians (Henning, Blaine, Copperfield) are in no way "supernatural" in nature!

Would you consider the methods/tricks employed by "self-proclaimed Ascended Masters" to recruit acolytes as "magic" or "supernatural"?

As for the idea of higher mammals practicing/believing/discussing delusional Human psychological behavior - is that not just a textbook example of anthropomorphizing?
Why must some people "assume" that other forms of life suffer all of the same emotional/mental/psychological shortcomings as Human Beings?

In an earlier Post, I believe you mentioned an interest/practicing of Psychic abilities/tricks - did you not?

Years ago an associate of mine stated that as far as he was concerned : "Psychiatrist and Psychologists were just people who never completed and/or flunked out of the education necessary to become licensed Psychics!" To say that he had a different outlook on life would be an understatement!

BTW, what is truly "of or relating to an order of existence beyond the visible observable universe *" today will most likely still be supernatural* tomorrow. * from * : http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/supernatural

Bebelina, what some people "call" some things, does not necessarily deem the "call" in any way true or factual!

    1. I don't know, what "tricks" do they use? In general I wouldn't call anything magical or supernatural anymore, since there is logic and explanations behind almost every occurance labelled as such.

    2. No, that is an old concept that belongs in the textbook burning pile, along with the Bible.

    3. Why shouldn't we assume that? Humans are animals too, we evolved the same way and carry so many similar features. Or do you think humans are "special" and apart from the rest of the life on the planet?

    4. Yes, what relevance has that in this discussion?

Well, you have a point about the namecalling. I will rephrase, the things we call supernatural today will be called neandethal tomorrow, meaning new things will have emerged to fit the term "supernatural" since we most likely have found logical explantations for the ones we label as such today. Allthough I have a feeling the word "supernatural" will be forgotten.

Like ours per example? Sorry, but we have a very limited system of communication, i'm not talking about only spoken text but every single way humans communicate. We are not different from animals Mazulu, we are not special and, just like we have these experiences (like you so vehemently claim), it is somewhat possible that animals that YOU consider inferior might have as well.

Yes, we are special. We can communicate in language, read and write. You don't see mice, elephants or whales writing books about the afterlife. Therefore, if an animal has a near death experience, it gives no benefit to it's herd. Therefore, NDE experiences will not be propagated by evolution.
