OK so this sickening game is on the rise. Walk up be kind someone cold cock them in the temple as hard as you can run away.

Should the players of this game " most younger kids" be charged with attempted murder?

Why such a punishment you ask? Its a well known fact jit someone there hard enough you can kill them.. and or cause long lasting/ serious injuries.

So if you put the to together you can come to a reasonable conclusion that's the goal they are aiming for.

On the flip side if you say a group of young thugs doing this how would you react?

I'd take out my concealed weapon and just shoot them.

I think the perps whom do this anywhere should be in a mental hospital, not put into prison. They need treatment on how to live in society, and that will not come in prison i would think.

The state is far more powerful than any of these scum whom act like this, and its the job of police and gov to keep those of the streets.

I would think that mental hospitals are the only place for people whom do such things really. So they can be pacified.

I do not think its attempted murder, but i think they should not be sent to prison, they should be in some mental hospital. Some people are a danger to others, and putting them in prison is no answer. They need proper treatment, and i would pacify them, and i am sure govs can do such things today. Sick people, why people cannot leave others alone to live there lifes.

Society has no real answer to these people, but i would think american mental hospitals are a more suitable place for them, and placed under supervision.

I wouldn't do anything if i saw it, as i am sure no one would ever help me too as i saw from when i was young, i think we all went through things. The only place for such people is for govs to pacify them if they are such people, and its proved they are. I am sure they can pacify most today.

The only answer to such people is a mental hospital stay, not prison, as i would assume in prison they would just be liked or something and be in there own peer groups. They need isolation from people.

I strongly disagree. These aren't 11- and 12-year-olds. They are mostly teens an early 20s and BELONG in prison where they can't hurt anyone else. They are identical to the group in a case not long ago here in the U.S. The leader of the group said they had nothing else to do, were bored, so they decided to kill someone - anyone. And they did.

Prison will not sort there heads out, they will just go there, and be in there peer group and think they are great. They need proper treatment, and that would only come from being pacified, not being in prison keeping and reinforcing there violent nature.

Humans can pacify most today, but i doubt prisons in america do that, they just reinforce there violent nature.

Thats what i am getting at. I have no idea what either american prisons or mental hospitals are like, but i assume prison will just reinforce there violent natures.

But like i said i have no idea what they do to those in american prison, or even if they try to fix that nature of violence in them. If being in prison reinforces there violent nature, whats the point. These people should be pacified not have there beliefs reinforced.

It might BUT it certainly will put them in touch wit cold, hard reality - that THEY alone are responsible for their choice of actions, not the group they were in.

i would whip out my concealed chainsaw and have at it.
my double barreled shotgun can only hold 100 rounds and my chaingun shoots a little to the left.
my rocket launcher does a reasonable splatter but is lethal to the user at close range.
i reserve my plasma rifle for the end episode bosses.
my single shot 12 gauge is a good all around weapon.

    It happens...

On February 26th a man waiting for his six-year-old daughter to be dropped off from school, had no idea he would be the city's first reported victim.

"I saw the van circle twice, and the second time three kids came out. I didn't suspect anything. I hadn't any enemies, or any reason to believe they would be looking to do anything to me."

We are not revealing the victim's identity for his protection.

The victim was attacked by 17-year-old Marvell Weaver. But Weaver did more than try to knock his victim out, he tried to do it with a taser. Luckily for the victim, the taser didn't work and he was able to protect himself with his concealed-carry .40 caliber pistol.

"He shoved something into my side. I wasn't sure what it was. It had some force to it. I wasn't sure if it was a knife or a gun," said the victim.

Weaver was shot twice, in the leg and an inch away from his spine. He's been sentenced to a year in jail for the attack, but he admits he's getting off easy.

"It was just a lesson learned. I wish I hadn't played the game at all," said Weaver.

Okay, sifreak21, you state that "this sickening game is on the rise". This "game" has been going on for years.
Have you ever heard of a "sucker punch" or being "blindsided"? How about "gang mentality", "fear based control", "bullying"...et al.

sifreak21, you ask : "if you say(saw?) a group of young thugs doing this how would you react"?

The same way I react when I see a Government do it. Or a Police Force. Or a Church. Or an Elitist Group. Or, in this case, the Media do it.
I react by doing what I can - assisting an individual being attacked - speaking up/out about/against unjust laws or unfair behavior - pointing out the "smoke and mirrors" that Mass Media uses to "fog/mask/distract" us from the real issues.

There is a Latin phrase : "oderint dum metuant". Roughly translated, it says : "let them hate, so long as they fear". In todays world, it seems to have been bastardized to mean more or less : "let them hate or fear, so long as they obey".

I do not so much see this ""Knockout" fun game" as "on the rise" - as I see just another example of what the "Elitist Thugs" have decided that we should "Hate" and "Fear", so that we continue to "Obey".

    ...just my $297.43 ($00.02 - adjusted for inflation)...dmoe

unfortunately the game i play doesn't have a flamethrower.
i think i would like some pipe bombs instead, it seems the shrapnel would take out more enemies than the launcher.
oh how i love my doom, and the concept behind the strategy.
    a landmark game for sure.

Seems like a few months ago I was getting upset over schools banning cops and robbers and other childhood games. But after reading this post, it reminded me of the childhood version of the knockout game my peers played. Which required one to exhale all of your oxygen in such a way that standing up would result in an immediate loss of consciousness. It looks like these games have become much more extreme than I could imagine...

I love the ones saying they would pull out *insert weapon here* and fire away...

Are you all DAFT? The big issue here is they pretty much walk up behind you and hit you before you are even aware of it... now, unless you pull out your gun on EVERY SINGLE PERSON that walks behind you... I doubt you'll have the chance to defend yourself.

    100% concur!!
Which brings to mind the application of corporal punishment at home and in school. At school it is now banned, and the advice from our phycotic phycological experts is that we should not use it at home.
We [me and 12 other old school mates] just had our 54th old boys reunion with one of our teachers attending.
The application of corporal punishment was applied quite liberally in those days, and that fact was a topic of conversation.
It certainly done us no harm...

Some personal examples that enforce the opinion that I have about punishment when appropriate....
When my Son was around 4 or 5 years old, he had a mate a few doors down from us who [after being egged on by a couple of older brothers] would whack my boy on the nose/face. He would come in crying and my Mrs [ who is highly religious] would tell him to forget about it and virtually turn the other cheek. After this type of behaviour occurred 4 or 5 times, I started to see red. I grabbed my boy after one instance, pulled him aside and told him if Andrew ever hit him again, to swing back and return the favour as hard as he could.
Sure enough a couple of days later, I see little Andrew strike my boy. He swung back and knocked him to the ground, sending him home with a bloody nose and crying.
That was 30 years ago, and to this very day they are still the best of mates. In fact best man at each others weddings.

Another instance saw me one day pull into a Service station for petrol. As I parked my car, I noticed 3 boys and a girl with another smaller kid against a telegraph poll, hitting, spitting and generally bullying him...all around 15 years old.
It was also adjacent to a school in which they all obviously belonged. Anyway, I briskly walked over to the bullies, and approaching the ring leader, walked straight into him [chesting/breasting him as hard as I could] knocking him to the footpath. Then apologising I "dragged" him up by the scruff of his neck and brushed him off, and "pushed"him on his way.....The other two brave mates of his and the girl, were well on there way at this stage.
Anyway, this attracted the Principal from the school, with whom I had a talk to and who consequently told me "good job" as this little arsehole was known for these sort of bullying tactics.

Perhaps if parents were still allowed to correct/punish their kids when appropriate, and schools were still allowed to apply discipline of the corporal kind when needed, we would not have this problem we do today with the younger set.

Sometimes bullies just need to fell some pain inflicted on their person [as they inflict it on others] to realise that what they do is not very nice.

We had a case in Australia a couple of years ago, where a fat kid was the subject of some bullying that was u tubed and went viral.

I am often confused for being White, so I am always on the lookout for being knocked out here in Manhattan.

What would I do if I witnessed this happening to someone else? Well, as I don't yet have my concealed carry permit, my best option if I were just out walking would be to call 911 on my cell while doing what I could to intervene. If I were driving, I'd probably be tempted to run the motherbucker over... hopefully good sense would prevail in that situation though.
