Gendanken is herself a phenomena. To have survived the gutting of anything worth a damn in sciforums. Where is she? I would love to talk to her again.
I was lucky enough to catch her one time whilst I was kicking the tires of this old place myself. Last I heard, she was alive and bored like the rest of us. I've skimmed and even the interesting folks are either too drunk, banned or in hibernation. Sometimes someone throws a brick but the echo it causes bouncing off all the blank walls and empty minds is deafening and things drift along as usual... half capsized in a sea of blood and pus.
There have been some exciting times on this forum. Back when Xev was a moderator, you could be in a situation where you were being flamed beyond the ability of the strongest asbestos suit to protect you... by the moderator! I find nostalgia for those times puzzling; a bit like a cancer patient who has had a large tumor removed, and is in remission, looking back wistfully for the times when her cancer was in full bloom. But, there's no accounting for taste.
No doubt getting high on her inflated sense of self-worth. And enjoying the oniony smell of her own armpits.
I'm less nostalgic about that sort of thing when it happens only a few months back, and where I could be banned by 'doing unto others'.
