Once you add that I would start to suspect either a pretty complex hallucination or a hoax.

And I will accept they AREN'T real when science shows evidence of repetitive, location-specific and SHARED visual and auditory hallucinations that involve the movement of objects, the generation of fluctuating emf fields, temperature drops, digitally recorded voices, flashing orbs of light, and video/photo images of such.

So your default stance is: I believe until proven false! ???

Where my default stance is: I don't believe until proven true!!

Either. Sometimes it is plainly apparent to me that what I am experiencing is not "really" "there"; other times it's my reality. In the latter instances, I typically come out of it within minutes or perhaps even an hour or so--culminating in either unconsciousness, a confused agitation, or a remarkable lucidity that I can't even begin to describe. Unfortunately, on rare occasion such events have lasted more than just a few hours--it's unclear whether I am seizing the entire time, or if part of it is some residual inter-ictal phenomenon. Typically status epilepticus should culminate in a generalized seizure (tonic-clonic, or conic-tonic in my case), but for some reason I've had prolonged focalized seizures that never generalize: they seem to move around a good bit (from one region of the brain to another), but simply don't trigger the generalized.

Close, his default stance is: I believe and nothing will prove it false in my mind.

But you didn't pinch or throw water at your dead Aunt on the sofa, you just saw her and called your neighbor (drinking buddy??) and he saw it too!

    Not a pinch one!

More likely a complete break from reality where someone hallucinates both the ghost and the neighbor,

So that makes you the what, nephew of the Higg's? Are you saying that your dead Aunt is the Higg's Boson, and it was on your sofa? Your neighbor saw it too? It talked to you for 30 minutes?

...and then disappeared into thin air, instantaneously?

Come on, man! Do you really expect me to believe that.....stuff?

Probably, but it was too small to even notice.

On the other hand, you didn't pinch your dead Aunt or throw water at her, you simply called your neighbor to corroborate your story. Why not just trust YOUR perception and throw water at the old dead Aunt, and see if she responds with a nasty comment???

OMG! You believe in an entity you can't feel when you pinch it? What kind of superstitious crackpot are you?

When things are too small there is different methods of "pinching" to measure things. I can't feel the distance between me and the moon, but I know there is measurable distance between us. On the other hand, if you claim there is measurable distance between a point in space, again, everyone has fantasies!

No..you hallucinated breakfast. In fact you hallucinated the whole existence of your aunt. She never even existed. You've entered the world of REAL science now! Consult billvon for details.
