    Hi all,
I was a member back when and wanted to vist and maybe post again, but couldnt remember the email address i had used, so registered again.
Anyway i used to love this board, it made me crazy and sometimes mad, but it was fun. Im looking forward to it this time around because i no longer have as high an opinion of my intelligence as i used to and may in fact actually be stupider, since more than a decade has passed

Looking at some of the threads it looks very familiar and a little nostalgic. Looking forward to whatever i may contribute and benefiting from the communal wisdom.

People have to be around my age (71) before it becomes common for their intelligence to wane significantly. Even then it isn't universal.

What does happen is that different aspects of your intelligence become stronger and weaker. My short-term memory is attenuating, but I also notice a difficulty in pulling up words that I've known for decades. Fortunately my vocabulary is still larger than that of most people, so with an online thesaurus I can always find the word I want in about 30 seconds.

But some of my other cognitive skills are becoming stronger, so on the balance I'm not disappointed. Math, music, spotting a con, the basic difference between right and wrong... I'm better at these than I used to be.

at least 10 years since i last viewed and offered up my opinion on sciforums. I came back in search of good and informative debate and i trust it is here...but i promise to be better behaved this time around, though.

lots of respect for fraggle-rocker...comforting to see you are very much part of the community.
