It's been undeleted in cesspool. The reason for it is more apparent now that I see the last few posts.

Any reason for the deleted alerts? Mitt deleted some of his text too.

I suspect Kitt misread your post or actually intended to reply to mine and not yours, then didn't feel like fixing it. In either case, I think it was evident to him the discussion wasn't going anywhere else useful.

I'm going to assume you meant to say Kitt..

It could be that those alerts were related to the deleted thread. If you were following it, deleting the thread probably got rid of alerts pertaining to that thread. Otherwise I wouldn't know what made them disappear.

Kitt obviously had a bad day and was less than "sapio". But that is no excuse. I don't know if you saw the text he deleted. Folks ought not to beat their dogs or strike out at others when they have bad days. We all have those days.

Hmm.. ok. Turns out we do have privileges there. Strange.
Anyway, I've locked it now (cesspool rules).

You are correct. My cell phone thinks it is smarter than me and keeps changing my text. It's frustrating.

Kitt didn't delete any post. Perhaps he edited the post you are talking about though.
My advice to you is to resolve this with Kitt in a conversation (PM).

I can understand related threads, but all alerts were wiped clean.

I copied the text before it disappeared.

Then I don't know what caused it.
Well, I can see deleted posts and there aren't any in that thread. Like I said, he might have edited the post instead.

Dr_Toad, most people (myself included) don't have that option.

I don't know whether it has been mentioned already, but the noparse tags don't seem to work anymore.

How odd. I wonder why I do?

Test:

\(\displaystyle \int_{-\infty}^{\infty}f(\omega)e^{i\omega t}\text{d}t\)

can be produced using the markup

\(\displaystyle \int_{-\infty}^{\infty}f(\omega)e^{i\omega t}\text{d}t\)

Huh, it also seems that \(\LaTeX\) doesn't render when you preview a post. That's a bit annoying. On the plus side, the \(\LaTeX\) rendering seems to be a lot prettier than it was before.

example no parse

the old tag is Vbulletin and isn't available in Xenforo's software, however Xenforo uses a set of [plain][/plain] tags instead.

As for the LaTeX rendering, that's using MathJax which runs a separate set of parsers from it's own core Javascript source. If it's included on the page it will attempt to parse (after page load) anything that looks remotely like LaTeX (if the correct start and finishing characters are used) This means that LaTeX will appear to render everywhere and anywhere. The [plain] tags in this instance will not stop it from rendering in LaTeX (If you want to show the source itself I'm sure there is either a way in the LaTeX itself or just by omitting the the opening and closing magic characters.)
