Creationist conference surprises MSU

"A creationist conference set for a major research campus — Michigan State University (MSU) in East Lansing — is creating unease among some of the school's students and faculty, which includes several prominent evolutionary biologists. Sounds like an obvious scam to try to convince people that MSU is sponsoring the event. And now the people who attend the conference will be able to say, "I went to MSU."

Yep..anything to lend a shred credibility to creationism. They would probably rent a warehouse next to the campus to have a conference and then claim it was supported by MSU. It's ridiculous that in the 21st century we still have this sort of pseudoscience still being propagated.

It seems this event should have taken place on 1st November. I can find no report whatsoever of it on line, though there are various references, either plugging it or simply referring to it, in advance.

This suggests to me it was not an event of any significance.

P.S. If you want a laugh, google "origin summit" and you will be taken to a creationist site with no content other than a cheesy paean of praise from some mad-looking woman with the kind of toothpaste rictus grin one sees only in the American Midwest.
