But he pointed out that "Sure, lots of scientists were religious. No one is perfect." The way I interpret it is that the religious scientists are not perfect because they are religious. Maybe he meant scientists that were religious weren't perfect because they were scientists? Maybe you think he was making the point that religious scientists aren't perfect because nobody is perfect? Why not just say "nobody is perfect"??
What's nonsense is that you can't respond directly. Just total deception from you. That's all we get.
Quite contradictory I must say. Why would I ask God to forgive me, when [1] I don't believe such a creature exists,[2] if he did exist, he gave me free will to think what I like, and [3] Lightning does not need the God myth to explain it.....the same goes for the whole Universe today, which we are able to trace back to quite near that BB moment [10-43 seconds in fact] and give detailed accounts as to how the primordial hydrogen came to be, how stars arose, how the elements arose, how the planets were formed and even the logically accepted scenario of Abiogenesis and life. I hope you read my previous rather lengthy post, as there is some rather good advice in that and good reasoning, or maybe like a couple of other anti science brigade we have here, you have me on ignore. Oh the pain of it all!! I'm mortified!!!!!
This should be moved to the religion forum. Nothing that Newton's Rival has posted, either here or on that abortion of a website has anything at all to do with science.
A religious scientist who is entirely "true to his religion" may be handicapped as a scientist, because (for example) a fundamentalist Christian may believe that the Earth is 6000 years old. And that is true; that can be a handicap. However, as I pointed out, a great many religious scientists are able to ignore that part of their religion when doing science - thus they overcome that potential flaw.
So if I understand you correctly, you're saying: 1. There are some scientists that are religious that have a flaw because they are religious. 2. There are some scientists that are religious that overcome that flaw.
