I can't tell you how delighted I am that Farsight and Motor Daddy seem now to have been permanently banned. In my view, these people were wrecking the credibility of the Physics and Maths section. They have been treated with great tolerance but are clearly incorrigible.

We may now find that, little by little, some more serious people start to use the forum.

That's all very well, but I can find neither of their names on either of the banned lists - permanent or temporary. Yesterday, I saw MD's. What happened to them? I thought Mo Papa was down for a 30-day ban, or so I read. I didn't see FarSight there. I respect the moderators' decisions, but would anyone mind summarizing the charges against them. (With MD, I can guess).

They are on page 2. At least, they are when I look at page 2, and the date on which the ban is to be lifted says "never". But there are some odd things about this new system, so I would not be wholly surprised if your version does not look the same as mine.

My view would be that, if they are wise, the Mods will not invite argument about their decisions by posting their reasons.

Well, if they don't wish to explain, that is their right. I see now, page two, thanks. I am not trying to advocate Motor Daddy, but I am certain that I read just yesterday he was under a thirty-day ban.

Motordaddy had received a temporary ban but requested a permanent one. It was granted.
Farsights permanent ban might possibly have been a mistake. If so, it will be corrected shortly.

If so it's one that made sense.
Now add the other nincompoops to the ban list.

    Whut?

Farsight might come back? Well that is depressing, I am with exchemist, I thought that a permaban was a good move ....

I want to thank MD for stepping up and stepping out.

Well let me join the above fine feathered folks in heartily giving the mods a tentative nod of appreciation. We appreciate all your efforts to extricate all said vermin. And your best efforts will no doubt be matched by the incessant return of their sock puppets.

And if Farsight gets off the hook yet again, can we vote him off the island by referendum?

Farsight's ban was apparently a mistake. Farsight is now not banned.

Yeah, that really is too bad. Did you allow him back for comic relief or something?

No. I allowed him back because permanently banning him by accident was unfair.

Oh well. I was never on his Christmas card list anyway, but I won't be
Fair enough. If it was a clerical error rather than a decision then obviously it has to be rectified.
