    Why don't we learn Galactic or Vedic mathematics? Much much better then
    the convention math we learn at school!

    I agree this should be cesspooled because the OP is deficient. So-called Vedic mathematics is nothing more than a few arithmetic tricks dressed up in the language of Hindu holy writ. They have no basis in historic Vedic scriptures and as arithmetic is not the end-all of mathematics don't prepare the student for general mathematical reasoning. In addition, (fake) holy books are authoritarian instructions and mathematics doesn't respect authority in that way. Nor are they conducive to reasonable discussion since all the trappings of religion and nationalism come along for the ride.
