I put off watching this movie for a long time. Comedies are not my usual selected movies, but I have to tell you I'm still laughing everytime I think about it. For me I rated it 5 stars and can't wait to see Hot Tub Time Machine 2. I suspect this movie is better for people older than 40.

    I liked this following review

I liked it - but I didn't find it as funny as I had hoped it would be. But entertaining none the less. I like John Cusack's work, though, and he does the humourous roles very well without it being overtly comedic.
Have you seen "Grosse Point Blank" - very good film - Cusack as a hitman wanting to go straight, agreeing to "one last job" and attending his high-school reunion.

    "The Judge" was good.

    "The Homesman," not so much.

To get it back on-topic, I'm watching The Giver, a 2014 film with Jeff Bridges, Meryl Streep and some new folks (at least to me).

Very powerful so far. I recommend it.

Beg pardon. I posted this to the wrong thread yesterday, but the mods moved it here.

    Thanks, mods!

Just finished watching season 3 (13 episodes). I've watched all 3 seasons and I come away feeling like our government could also be a house of cards. It's a very uneasy feeling. The parallels between this series and watching the news are very disturbing and the acting very well done.

The following write up hits the mark pretty well. I did watch the first 2 Hunger Games movies and thought this one was better and I am very much looking forward to watching part 2. However I never read the book so can only take the word of this reviewer.

My opinion: Lionsgate produces some of the best movies I've ever watched and I've watched a lot of them so they don't need to earn any good will with me. Off the top of my head I can't think of any Lionsgate move I've watched that I didn't like and I can't say that about any other company that produces movies.

    I tend to agree.

I need to amend my recommendation for The Giver, however. It was quite good up until they couldn't figure out how to end it...

I never added the Giver to my Netflix queue and still don't plan on it. Not really my cup of tea.

I watch some things now and again that look good at first glance and get decent reviews, then wonder why it got a good write-up..

    You never know.

Hell, I enjoyed Sharktopus almost as much as I enjoyed The Godfather... For very different reasons , but I enjoyed it nonetheless.
I'm a sucker for goofy "horror".

Usually I only order 4 & 5 star movies from Netflix, but even so I still get movies that I can't watch because they are so boring it hurts.

I also enjoyed watching Sharktopus and Sharknato and a few others, but once was enough.
