Well ofcourse. We all know this. But do we really THINK about it much? That one second there will be a you. And the next second there will not be a you? That's the premise at least, until we actually undergo this bungie cord jump into totally opaque unknownness. Let's think about what death means for a moment..

Death is the core of paradoxicality. It is the state of being in no state at all. It is Heidegger's "possibility of the impossibility of Being There (Dasein)". Existentially it makes itself present as the possibility of not being at all that at every point is the most certain thing that will occur but also the least certain thing to occur as to when or how. We live in the face of this "fatedness to not be" every day. Death crosses our minds probably more than any other topic thruout our day. The wreck on I5. The condition of a sick relative or friend. Our insurance policies, our medical care, our entertainment from movies and books, our plans for our future, our memories of our relatives, our recreation, our nightmares, and our spirtuality. Whatever else the AFTERdeath may be, death itself is simply the angst-generating presence of our total and eternal absence from the universe. How is such a thing even conceivable? It isn't. It is the most transcendental fact about us--that we will all die, that we all die alone, and that we know this with a certainty that cannot be denied.

But we know for a certain fact that we won't be coming back as ghosts.

True. Nowadays we know that the only way you come back is as a zombie.

I have to much living to do so I don't dwell on my demise.

    Famous last words.

I was dead aeons before I was born, and will be again, probably sooner than I'd like. That should make some excellent fertilizer for green things to grown in. Sorry if it increases global warming. I did what I could to reduce my carbon footprint.

    I disagree with the premise:
    1) You 'WILL' die someday.
The most you can say is every human that has lived, has, in the past, been observed (or assumed) to have died. What will happen in the future is unknown. Perhaps you won't die?
    2) YOU will die someday.
The 'You' in the this statement is already dead. We are constantly changing and while the small changes in what was you may not seem like much, across many years, there's probably very very little that is actually 'you'. The 'you' you were when you were 10, 19, 22, etc.... these people are not the 'you' of today. So, you 'HAVE' already died may be better way to think about the premise.

Any continuation of you that does not explicitly have your memories is not 'you'. If you were to live for 500 years, and met your current self, you'd probably have no recollection of who this person even was. You could probably sit down and talk to your past self, assuming this were a totally different person. And you'd probably be right in doing so.

No, you believe dead people just hang around to take selfies.

You think they retain their appearance and memory.

"They are" imposters ('familiar' spirits) who have observed the deceased throughout their lifetime--not to mention their ancestors. Accordingly, they have access to information that could be construed by the survivors as evidence confirming the imposter is in fact the deceased.

No. They are immortal spirits pretending to be a ghost*.

So these "spirits" that are immortal, waste their time trying to trick us lowly humans? Yeah ok

Lets just say you are strongly inclined to dismiss alternative naturalistic explanations.

Not necessarily since I don't know all that "naturalistic" encompasses. Are other dimensions and branes naturalistic? Is dark matter naturalistic? Are closed timelike curves naturalistic? The universe is full of anomalous phenomena. We have a tendency of too narrowly defining what is possible in it.
