And indeed, I feel the great majority of them, if given the order to "seize America" by military force, would turn around, look their CO in the eye, and go "I'm sorry, I must have heard you wrong... did you really just tell me to shoot the people I pledged my LIFE to protect?"

You will, of course, be able to provide paperwork, documentation, or some other actual, factual evidence of this utterly batshit crazy claim, right? This is a military exercise that has happened numerous times before...

    Wow..

I am torn between laughing at you or feeling sorry for you.

That you would buy into this sort of nonsense isn't surprising. After all, you do not strike me as a very rational man and the Republican Party is fast showing itself to be a pack of loons. That you are offended that others do not buy into your lunacy and your avid conspiracy theory laden beliefs is, however, bloody hysterical.

Instead of labeling Texas as "hostile" for the purpose of this military exercise, they should have labeled it "retard".

I'm offended? "There you go again..."
I'm not offended; I'm moved to pity, empathy, and compassion because I know what is coming.

    From your link:

In 2013 so many became convinced that the Obama administration was engaged in a nefarious plan to starve the people of ammunition by unfairly stockpiling it all for government agencies, that two prominent Republicans Oklahoma Senator Jim Inhofe and Congressman Frank Lucas introduced a bill that would curb the amount of ammunition the government was allowed to buy.
So, let me get this straight...

The crazy Republicans run around screaming how the Fascist, Communist, Muslim, N***er President is trying to take our guns away (which isn't true) and therefore they attempt to pass a law curbing the amount of guns, or in this case ammunition, that the freakin' Federal Government can procure? Really? I guess I would be astonished, but I just can't anymore...

And people honestly wonder where the phrase "batshit crazy" comes from.

Why aren't you astonished--or alarmed--the government is doing that? To my mind, that constitutes "batshit crazy".

You "know" it, yet you cannot prove it... so thus, by the process of elimination, you "know" NOTHING.

I am out of astonishment at the moment for actions brought by "two prominent Republicans - Oklahoma Senator Jim Inhofe and Congressman Frank Lucas".

I still believe that constitutes "batshit crazy" - glad we agree...

    You're killing me.

    You know what is coming?

What would that be? The nurse with your medication? Your new tin foil hat because your current one has holes in it and the Government can read your thoughts?

    Yep. Such a Bill exists.

They believed that the Obama administration was buying ammunition to prevent people in Oklahoma from being able to access said ammunition to exercise their Second Amendment Rights. So they introduced a Bill to try to restrict how much Federal agencies could buy, to ensure civilians were able to and stockpile, because you know.. OBAMA. The manic and panic buying of guns and ammunition because OBAMA resulted in a shortage.

The government is buying ammunition so no one else can have it, says Jim Inhofe. “So what are they going to do if they want to, if they want to violate our Second Amendment rights?” he said in an interview Monday. “Do it with ammo.” As a result, Inhofe’s constituents in Oklahoma are apparently being forced to wander a treacherous landscape of communist bread lines in order to obtain the ammunition they and their families so desperately need. To fix the problem, Jim Inhofe is introducing a bill to limit how many bullets the government can purchase from now on.

    [...]

There are of course numerous market factors contributing to the ammunition shortage, most of which could be summed by the word “panic,” as in millions of panicked idiots have been buying guns at frantic rates, guns which need ammunition, thus creating high demand that ammunition manufacturers have been unable to meet. But why let “reasonable explanations” ruin the fun?

Here’s a taste of the horror currently taking place on the ground in Oklahoma according to the local news station:

There’s a two-box limit for customers at Big Boy’s Guns and Ammo in Southwest Oklahoma City and at other gun shops. Many fear the government could be stockpiling ammunition and preventing the public from doing the same.

“They can’t buy bullets. Even .22 shells are being rationed. So this is an effort to say, outside of the department of defense, of course, if the rest of the federal government has a two-year supply, stop buying bullets,” said Republican Congressman Frank Lucas.

“You basically go all day if you’ve got the time, you go around and try to find someone who’s even got a small shipment. And even then, you only get one box per day, at a time, per caliber,” said ammunition buyer Jim Mitchell. “I think it would be a good bill because the people is what it’s all about. And we’re the ones who are wanting and needing the ammunition.”

All in all, it makes for hysterical reading. Well, for those of us who do not live in America.

Indeed, that is a very nice picture of a presumably historical event - how it is tied into current events, I am unsure - if you are referencing the fact that he (Noah) was given forwarning of an impending mass-extinction event by Him (Yaweh) then yes, he knew it was happening, and could not prove it, and ended up being right.

That, however, does not make it good science... after all, even a broken clock is right twice a day.

    Oh, I'm a lumberjack, and I'm okay,
I sleep all night and I work all day.

Seriously dude, enough with the religious imagery. You have been warned about this so many times now.

Although it does make me wonder about how many Texans are building bunkers because they believe they are being invaded...

    Oh wow..

The things people are saying about this..

And the level of batshit crazy out there is terrifying, and funny as hell at the same time:

Frankly, with some of the information I am beginning to uncover (more will be revealed later since I am putting out 5 posts on this issue), I don’t see how ANYONE can be prepared for this… or what it is preparing FOR rather. Even though the report below says EIGHT states, I now have it on much better authority coming out in a post later that the true number is closer to 30 states. Even if you’re not “SEEING” activity… when you find out what is going on behind the scenes it is going to make you question everything you’ve ever known. This country has truly gone past a point of no return… and I have video, so no, it’s not speculation.

Do you have a plan to avoid a FEMA camp if/when martial law is declared? Do you have a plan to meet with your children somehow with not only men carrying machine guns are on all the street corners, but members of the military will be armed, and also in civilian clothes after they’ve already infiltrated your community? Are you aware of how THEY will be moving around to remain undetected from those they trying to get into camps?

Let me offer you a small piece of advice for surviving Martial Law, and then let me tell you the reality of your situation if you don’t wise up quick. The advice isn’t from me. It’s from someone who clearly wasn’t a writer, because it took me two hours to make the writing even remotely comprehendible. I’ll say this though: what he lacked in writing skills, he knew about survival skills. HOW TO SURVIVE MARTIAL LAW – DETAILED GUIDE!

Now, with all that said, if you haven’t been reading the financial stuff I put out, or updated information on what others have been putting out, and you think that when the sh** hits the fan, somehow you’re going to wing it, you are sorely mistaken. If you’re one of those doesn’t believe a financial Armageddon is coming, because there is a 3000% chance it IS coming and a -500% chance it’s NOT, then you won’t have a prayer.

Anyone who can’t see that as plain as day will never have the common sense or wit to service. How would you even know what to be looking for as a sign? You need to be GONE BEFORE the crisis hits… otherwise you are going to be trapped in the free-for-all with everyone fighting for food, power, etc. I say that not to scare you, I mean that. I say that hopefully to motivate you to read more than Facebook stickers and slogans to get educated on what is happening all around you… while you can.

People are going to have two choices on what to do. 1) Take their chances with Mad Max style gang infested areas the military isn’t able to secure because the military isn’t that big; or 2)Make the best of their new homes behind barbed wire and armed military guards in FEMA camps. I’d suggest you find out what you’re getting into in either choice.

    [...]

Operation Jade Helm is designed to simulate a MILITARY RESPONSE to an UPRISING of the American people. Obama has known since Day 1 that his plans did not even RESEMBLE anything constitutional, and it is expected that eventually WE THE PEOPLE will SNAP and try to take our country back. When we do, Obama and the rest of Crime Inc. will be ready for us. Being the clever little sh** that he is, Obama duped the DEMOCRATS INTO NOT READING THE NATIONAL DEFENSE AUTHORIZATION ACT which essentially did away with Posse Comitatus AND did away with the ENTIRE BILL OF RIGHTS with the exception of the Second Amendment, and we all know how hard Obama is working on that one.

The crazy just continued and actually got worse from there, pages and pages of it.

But the, joy of joys, came the comments underneath.

NOT A EXERCISE! How can this just be a exercise? How will any american soldiers practice to “blend in” in civilian clothing to invade any foreign enemy in say Mexico, Cuba, Japan, China, etc? DON’T THEY ALL SPEAK IN A FOREIGN LANGUAGE? So how can these soldiers learn to “Blend In” BY NOT SPEAKING IN THAT COUNTRIES NATIVE LANGUAGE? Clearly, this is only to destroy America, where they speak “American”. Even going to Canada, they will not blend in because they don’t have the language, so this is 100% proof it is to Overthrow your Nation and Citizens. So how this “Practice” teaching them to blend in in Iran, or Iraq, India… Impossible! The gov is the citizens enemy and targetting it very own people. Plain and simple. No other logical reason can be given.

    My sides hurt from laughing..

    'MURICA, FUCK YEAH!!!!1!!!1!

WHERE THE LANGUAGE SPOKEN IS "AMERICAN".

Unlike Canada, where their language is Canadian? So yeah, can't take over Canada, because Americans don't speak Canadian.

In another article about Jade Helm on that site, one of the people in the comments section pointed out what he saw as his connection to Wal-Mart and Jade Helm. Brace yourselves:

Interesting that Hillary Clinton served on the Board of Directors for Wal-Mart and Michelle Obama happened to serve on the Board of Directors for “TreeHouse Foods Inc.” a company with very close ties to with Wal-Mart.

    Oh God..

According to Veterans Today – Violent confrontations with American military across the country are being planned by terrorists PRETENDING TO BE “SPECIAL OPS” and planned/exploited by bloggers and extremist radio hosts.

Snipers are being sent out now to TARGET AMERICAN TROOPS, whether Jade Helm or not. The real threat will be from intelligence agents.

I SAID THIS DURING THE BUNDY SHOWDOWN AT LEAST 10 TIMES. OBAMA IS GOING TO PLANT THE PERSON WHO FIRES THE FIRST SHOT TO MAKE IT LOOK LIKE A VETERAN OR A TEA PARTY MEMBER.

    This seems apt..

Nice feeling, but dead wrong.(as/per my perspective from 45-48 odd years ago)
The majority would follow orders, and if those orders were in conflict with the constitution then "oops"(as an afterthought).
    ......... old song, new words......
    This from Henry IV:
    "KING HENRY VI
... dare say you love him not so ill, to wish him here
alone, howsoever you speak this to feel other men's
minds: methinks I could not die any where so
contented as in the king's company; his cause being
    just and his quarrel honourable.
    WILLIAMS
    That's more than we know.
    BATES
Ay, or more than we should seek after; for we know
enough, if we know we are the kings subjects: if
his cause be wrong, our obedience to the king wipes
the crime of it out of us.

    WILLIAMS
But if the cause be not good, the king himself hath
a heavy reckoning to make, when all those legs and
arms and heads, chopped off in battle, shall join
together at the latter day and cry all 'We died at
such a place;' some swearing, some crying for a
surgeon, some upon their wives left poor behind
them, some upon the debts they owe, some upon their
children rawly left. I am afeard there are few die
well that die in a battle; for how can they
charitably dispose of any thing, when blood is their
argument? Now, if these men do not die well, it
will be a black matter for the king that led them to
it; whom to disobey were against all proportion of
    subjection."
Many wars, many times, many crimes and the after-claim:
    "I was just obeying orders!"

In truth, this is another example of that thematic little something I was after. Consider this note from Steve Benen of msnbc:

To appreciate just how nutty the issue is, consider this tidbit: the National Rifle Association has already urged its members not to take the conspiracy theories seriously. “Skepticism of government is healthy. But today, there are more than enough actual threats to the Second Amendment to keep gun owners busy… there is no need to invent additional threats to our rights,” the gun group wrote about the ammunition story.

But even after the NRA gave the administration a pass on this one, right-wing lawmakers don’t care, and they’re hearing from constituents who are afraid the Obama administration is (a) stockpiling bullets to be used against Americans; (b) buying up ammunition to keep bullets from the hands of civilians; or (c) both.

This is truly, deeply nutty, and yet we now have federal lawmakers holding hearings on the conspiracy theory and proposing legislation to address the conspiracy theory.

I spoke of finding myself in the corner with Pat Buchanan, or Lindsay Graham, or Rick fuh-reakin' Perry, but this?

Look, maybe that could be my service to the world; I could be a bellwether for the Republicans. After all, if the National Rifle Association and I just happen to agree on something, it likely requires some sort of specific frame. And if that frame is Republican tinfoil, yes, the party might wish to check its position, and then check it again.

No, seriously. How the hell do I end up standing next to the NRA on this one?

    Oh, right. Republicans.

There is a difference though - in the situation being talked about here, we would be asking our men and women in uniform to attack their own families, friends, neighbors, etc. Without good reason, that wouldn't sit well with most of them - I have several dozen friends and acquaintances in the military (a half dozen or so in the marines, handful in the air force, two navy, two coast guard, and a bunch of army) and I can safely say not one of them would, without a damn good reason, cause harm to an American Citizen.

Why do they "get to"? There's this thing called 'free speech' here in the United States. (At least for the time being...)

It's the same principle that allowed the left to ceaselessly denigrate the military and its members, from the Vietnam era through the G.W. Bush administration. 'Instruments of imperialism' and 'mass murderers', so the rhetoric went.

Today the exact same thing is being done to the nation's police, as the left try to suggest that the nation's police forces and their officers are brutal racist killers. That line has been shamelessly pushed by the mass media as the nation's headline story for months now.

I don't believe that "conservatives" have any interest in "denigrating" the military services and their members. They are the ones with the history of supporting the military.

Worries about Jade Helm seem to me to be twofold.

First, there's the practical local aspect. If a massive counter-insurgency (or whatever it's supposed to be) training exercise is planned for their communities, how will that impact the lives of local residents? If the streets of their communities are filled with armored vehicles and special-forces operators bristling with automatic weapons, won't their activities put those communities under what amounts to de-facto martial law? I think that's a very real and entirely rational concern. If the military proposed holding massive exercises in my town, I'd have similar worries.

In the Jade Helm instance, the Army assures people that the exercises will take place on private property, with the property owners' consent. They insist that there will be minimal impact on local communities. I'm inclined to believe them.

But I don't see anything wrong with the Governor of Texas ordering state monitors to observe the exercises to help ensure that the assurances are met and that local residents' civil liberties aren't infringed. That's the right thing to do and I applaud him for doing it. In fact, I don't know of any convincing argument against it.

The other worry about Jade Helm is more philosophical. The point that I want to make is that your opposite numbers on the right, those you hate so passionately and feel such scorn for, don't think any more highly of the left. They are no more willing to treat the left's ideas seriously than the left is to heed them. Both sides' perception of the other are insulting caricatures. Both sides are convinced that they are are the good people and that their opposite numbers represent crazy evil. That chasm in American culture is deepening daily, it may already be unbridgeable, and it likely will doom the nation.

That's the context into which Jade Helm inserts itself. The fact that it seems geographically focused on parts of the United States most alienated from the ruling elites creates the suspicion in some quarters that it is a domestic counter-insurgency training exercise/show of force directed at the little people grasping tightly to their religion and to their guns, who the NY-Washington elites fear might someday mount a popular insurrection.

I personally doubt very much whether those planning the Jade Helm exercise had anything like that in mind.

But that's the fear. It isn't totally unreasonable given the kind of hatred that's being directed at anyone who expresses any uneasiness at all about this thing. This has obviously become something much more than a mere military exercise, it's begun to symbolize larger issues to both sides.

Maybe Obama has a point. Maybe the best way to address black America's alienation from the police is to listen seriously to black America's concerns about the police. And similarly, maybe the best way to address the growing alienation of half the US population from the Washington elites is to listen seriously to their concerns. Reducing them to caricatures and then trying to ridicule them into oblivion will only be counterproductive.
