We need a moderator active in the Australian or New Zealand timezone. It always seems to be around this time in the evening when the spambots attack.

Yes quite a nasty attack. It does seem a strange oversight that the forum software cannot prevent messages with URLs from new members. Seems an elementary anti-bot precaution which is standard on other sites. The Mods must really curse the software on days such as this.
There must be about 500 different new threads of spam by now, with several spambots all working at the same time. I've never known such an attack.

Mod Note Sorry folks, it seems in the couple of hours I went and had dinner and lived life, we got hit hard. I have let the owners know and I am doing my best to delete them as fast as I can. I may or may not have sent a few threads to the Cesspool, if this is so and you notice it, I take full blame. They will have gotten caught by accident as I am doing these in large blocks (over 10 pages in one sub-forum alone so far) and because there are literally hundreds of these spam threads, one or two may get lost in the fray. If your thread or you notice one has gone astray, please let us know and I will do my best to restore it or get admin to restore it. And DMoE, that would have to be the god damn most stupid crap you have come out with so far. You best hope that by the time I get through dealing with this, that my mood improves and I do not remove you from this forum for that. I am not in the mood for your pathetic bullshit at this point in time.

Hundreds of threads locked, deleted and moved to Cesspool and several spambots banned. Some of these people had managed to get over 196 threads in a very short space of time. Mood, very bad.
Mod Note DMoE has been banned for 1 week for trying to get certain individuals banned by insinuating that they were the spambots currently attacking this site. In case people are not aware, trying to get people banned like this can result in a permanent ban. We have permanently banned people for similar offenses in the past.
