Italy has just reopened one of the most famous ruins of Pompeii, The Villa of Mysteries. Has anyone seen it? I would love to see it. It’s on my bucket list.

The Christian similarities are remarkable. Dionysus' death parallels, not only the Osiris myth, but also the resurrection of Jesus.

Parallels between Greek myths and the life of Jesus

The flagellation scene is also interesting. One theory suggests that the winged figure represents Agnoia (Ignorance), which the initiate will cast off by becoming a member.

I was in Pompeii about a year ago or so. This is looking at the volcano from a street inside the town. I did see that fresco in a bath area as you were leaving it.

Here is another fresco that wasn't finished yet that was on a wall.

Both you and cosmic have done a lot traveling, though. You're lucky.
Very cool, cosmic! Thanks for sharing.

The Villa of Mysteries was still closed for restoration when you were there, right? That’s too bad. Just look at the difference, though.
