    Hi folks

There was a thread titled "Twin Paradox and Time Dilation" in the Astronomy sub-forum which was accidentally deleted by me while I was trying to handle a particularly nasty spammer. I have apologised to Rajesh for what happened and have informed the owners to see if there is anything they can do to salvage it.

Normally I will remove a thread a spam thread from view and then delete it as a double check measure when it is on the same page as other normal non spam threads. Sadly this particular spammer had posted something which flagged every security software I have on my computer and everything lagged as I was trying to delete them as spam and next thing I know, the Twin Paradox thread disappeared from my screen. At a guess, someone posted as I was trying to click to delete the spam and because it froze my computer, Rajesh's thread was a casualty of my manic clicking to try to get my page unfrozen.

I do apologise to everyone who posted in it and I have contacted the owners to see if it can be salvaged.

If you want it back - and I think you should, I saved everything up to and including post #130, p7, time stamp July 9, 2015 at 11:16 AM.
So just PM me to arrange for an uploading (exact details please) of all 7 pages.

Hopefully Humpty Dumpty is all back together again. One minor issue I had not mentioned was Firefox for some reason does not save 'non-standard smileys/emoticons', but there should be no tears over that.

While these moronic sub human like creatures continue with their apparent vendetta, and in such quantity, it is surprising that such errors have not happened before this.

Huh? Replace the above uncapitalized "that's" with "I'm", and that typically vacuous and churlish krash661 comment would have made actual sense. If you have nothing positive and useful to say, which is always in your case - exercise some restraint and say nothing.

Well hopefully everything has worked out re putting Humpty Dumpty back together again. Uploaded as requested, but no notification zipped upload was received complete (my own unzipping test-run worked fine). Cannot find the 'lost' thread anywhere still (not referring to the empty of useful content caricature currently there under the same title). Is the original thread to be restored, or merely archived away somewhere for historical purposes? Not that anything mindblowingly important was ever contained there.

Meaning what exactly? If you wish to be cryptic and vague and faintly derisive, at least back it with a meaningful context. Or is that expecting too much? Funny - imagined we were on reasonably good terms. Not once did I heap abuse on you like certain others that, strangely, you then often immediately gave 'I likes' to. So what and who is weird and creepy then?

Below is reproduced verbatim what was, before the latest site takedown, post #11 by Plasma Inferno!, and post #12 by myself. Crossed-fingers this irony (restoring deleted posts in a thread about a deleted thread) won't end up like a hall of mirrors:

You have my permission to archive as much or as litte as you wish, and the same goes for organizations like the NSA, with whom I have some experience and association. For those foolish enough not to temper any remarks they may make here, consider yourselves warned by someone who understands the consequences of not doing so.

I also like krash661. I don't know why either. As for the other sometimes abrasive posters I occasionally like, they aren't all that bad. They remind me of my younger online persona. I was once much worse than any of them aspire to be, and with much less provocation as well. I'm better now. You are all safe. Peace.

I should have patented 'creepy'. I'd probably be rich.

So, because I learned the value of saving after each posting, through experiences beginning at another forum where I personally observed 5 maybe 6 entire threads 'disappeared' without any prior warning or subsequent notice, you somehow suggest a linkage to NSA Total Surveillance policy? Wow, talk about weird and creepy thinking. For your info - I'm on record here as suggesting improper snooping on member's notionally 'private' PM's aka 'conversations' happens, perhaps always, mirroring on a smaller scale NSA style activity. Has anyone else here imperiled their standing here by risking making such an observation? I doubt it. So your suggestion is just uber ridiculous and laughably ironic.
Ha ha ha. Some can cuss and denigrate and troll with obvious total impunity. Maybe you can offer a tighter definition of those 'at peril'.
More wow from me. To each their own. But yeah, peace. And btw, are you going to re-post that 'interesting' opus of yours that disappeared from Physics & Maths?

No, not planning to repost. I talked the idea over with my Phd math youngest son. Calculus is in no particular peril, and infinities in math are always going to be difficult to deal with. Turning them into probabilities the way the standard model does is nothing short of genius. I really love physics.. Math ain't all that bad either.

There was quite a bit of flaming mixed into that thread that would be just as well forgotten, as far as any science is concerned. I would think it might be marginally better to try and let folks know what they posted and chose what if any of it they would like reposted.

And how many threads are ever free of copious flaming and trolling at SF? Rather few in my observation.
    I'm cool either way.

Sure, I,m with that.....Obviously it will cut my content out somewhat, but needless to say excellent idea.
Also though, the content along with the "objective" of the thread should also be considered. Was it a genuine query or a guise to push another agenda.

I pushed it (perhaps too far) because sooner or later, physics will need to come to grips with how quantum entanglement fits into the big picture. Time dilation is obviously involved, since it seems mismatched with the idea of entanglement.
