I took up the issue with James R (PM) about the correctness of certain basic science / Maths issues as brazenly raised by a particluar member...but this can be extended in general.

James, justifiably, stated that expertise on the vast subjects of forums cannot be expected from them, but surely Mods can intervene on basic issues and can seek involvement of some other members, there are a few good one around. But such proactive actions are not taken.

Take for example, this Paddoboy gaffe on volume-diamater, when he stated the same in OP, I also did not bother and assumed that it is radius (some thought it was diameter, fair enough), but his subsequent song and dance unequivocally proves that he is not at all conversant with what this basic geometry aspect of volume-diameter of the sphere about.

Take a look what he says at the end, it is volume not diameter....

The man tells me that my maths of value of surface area and volume of a sphere of radius 2.95 Kms is plagiarised and incorrect...he brazenly continues that if radius is 2.95 Kms then diameter is approximately 5, not 6. He sunk with this and quoted post and took Dwdyddr with him, who vociferously tried to salvage him.

James, I agree that guys here may not have expertise, Mods also cannot be expected to know everything...but your (Mods) role must extend beyond controlling the unruly behaviour, science forums call for some kind of technical exactness. If you take my opinion the entire BH tutorial thread must be consigned to cesspool (it is factually incorrect on many points) or atleast there should be a disclaimer by you, that opinion is that of OP only and the Board does not vouch for the veracity or correctness of the contents. Note, the heading of the thread...Tutorial on BH......the damage it can cause.

Finally, DMOE, you were right on the issue, that Paddoboy is not conversant about cubic Kms as the unit of volume, there is no doubt about it, but James was also right...because despite your being right on the point, the thread was nothing but Trolling....Hope James will ask Paddoboy to stop his trolling on me and to respond on this as well as many issues raised by me about his tutorial. Tutorial on a science forum must be vetted.

My good friend the initiator of the OP, has been constantly refuted in every aspect of BH cosmology he has put in many threads. This is simply sour grapes....spitting the dummy.
I have called him out a few times, the latest being is that I'm near sure he is rajesh....Obviously as rajesh also had so called scientific papers demolished, in which I also played a major part, this would add more angst to his failed effort to spread pseudoscientific nonsense about BH.s
I stand by my tutorial 100% and If James would like to question me on any point on the forum for everyone to see, I will gladly oblige and leave any judgement call up to him.
For James: This tutorial was also published on the old ABC forum and passed review, which I specifically asked from "Chris" our GR theorist expert.
Again, this is no more than a case of sour grapes, and any investigation into the tooings and froings between the god and myself, or rajesh and myself will reveal that.

The OP very specifically prods the Mods...

    1. Can they allow basic silly mistakes in science forum?

"squeezing the Sun into a 5km volume [please note: volume not Schwarzchild radius]"

Well how the volume of a solar mass BH of radius 2.95 Kms be 5 km ?? How the diameter of a sphere of radius 2.95 Kms be 5 kms?.......After all it is Tutorial, can't the Mods ask this basic question, when the poster is brazenly sticking to his BS.

    2. Can the Mods allow an unwetted "Tutorial on a science Subject" on a forum ? If they are not qualified to vet it, should there not be a disclaimer?

    3. The role of a Mod is musch more than issuing warning points or banning? If a poster, like Paddoboy, continues with his silly takes, then should the other person ignore and move on? Should the Mods not intervene and seek a basic clarifications from him? A timely intervention by Mods can certainly put a brake on unruly behaviour or unnecessary foolish argument. The thread is open for viewing by other unsuspecting guests as well.

James R would be failing in his duty, if he does not ask Paddoboy to clarify his stand on this 5 Kms and other issues raised by me in that Tutorial thread. After all he has locked DMOE thread, almost giving a feeling that whatever posted by Paddoboy was ok...And what is this continued nonsense by Paddoboy of rajesh. If this is not trolling then what is trolling?

    The God:

My question to you is: if you see flaws in something somebody else has posted, why can't you point out what they are in the relevant thread?

This is a discussion forum. So discuss!

Yes, I most certainly believe you are rajesh for many reasons, none the least being rajesh's last post hinting he may be back.
And again, the questions you have asked in the appropriate thread are not sincere and genuine, hence why I ignore them and will continue to do so unless instructed otherwise by the mods.

Let me state it again, if we could magically squeeze the sun within a 5km volume its Schwarzchild radius would be reached. That is fact...No one mentioned any 2.95 other than yourself.
If I squeeze Jupiter to with a 4mtr volume, its Schwarzchild radius would also be breached, hence compulsory collapse and BH.
I'm rather confident that most members should see the 5km and 4mtr as diameters of spheres.
I also asked for reputable review by the members, and I do not class you as reputable, since you smugly ignore all links as pop science, and of course refuse to name your credentials.
This is no more than you once again spitting the dummy.
Your other questions are just as pedantic and just as false as the current one you are putting on a "song and dance"about.

What I have said is well within mainstream accepted BH cosmology.
What you have inferred, claims, and hinted at is not.
On another part of the tutorial, you hinted that BHs were an absurdity and many thought that along with what Author Eddington claimed.
Then you pick me up for claiming them as a near certainty but naturally doing what you do best and taking it out of context.
    What I said.......And stand by......
"Though we still have some that will claim that BH's do not exist, none have ever describe the effects on matter/energy and spacetime, that are observed in any other logical scientific way, the effects that can only ever be attributed to BH's.
BH's for all intents and purposes, and based on the current laws of physics and GR, most certainly do exist".

Your other questions are just as meaningless and baseless and should be known by anyone that professes to know anything about mainstream BH cosmology.
And this is the sticking point! You are not pushing mainstream cosmology just your own many times refuted model.
eg of another question you asked that even our most basic layperson could answer.
I said that a BH can have three properties, mass, spin and charge, [noting here that rajesh disputed this strongly] and I followed on with that charge would be reasonably quickly negated.
You then asked how, or why it would be negated.
Again, Are you really serious with such a question?

But I'll answer that now anyway not that you will accept it.
    They would attract opposite charge.

Again with your other questions, I do not see them as genuine but if instructed to answer I will gladly.
Perhaps you are working on the presumption that if you throw enough mud, some will stick. By the same token if the administrators/mods check out your short history here as the god, and do some research on rajesh, i'm rather confident that they may see things as I do.
My last reply to your nonsensical and dummy spitting claims in this thread.

Are you kidding me? This whole thread just like DMOE's thread is nothing but an excuse to troll. Do you really think the members of this site are too stupid to see that?

Thats the idea of this thread. If I see a flaw in something somebody else has posted, and if the same is brought to his notice, but still he persists, then what ? If a poster despite it is brought to his notice that what he has posted is incorrect, continues brazenly, then do you, as Mod, have any role to play, other than watching helplessly or not watching at all or not intervening at all?

    Paddoboy,

I am taking your post in quote, in that Tutorial thread of yours, because any technical discussion here may not be proper as hinted by James.

DMOE - enough already. We know you have a hard-on for Paddoboy; you don't need to create sock puppets to continually attack him.

    The God:

Then you can point out that he is still persisting in an error. Or you can walk away.

It is also possible that persistent stupidity in the face of careful correction will amount to trolling or telling deliberate lies. In those cases, you might try hitting the "report" button and letting a moderator deal with it.

    krash661:

If that was confirmed, neither The God nor DMOE would still be here.

    AlexG:

Again, if The God was a confirmed rajesh sock puppet, he would not still be posting here.

Currently, nobody has presented a convincing case that The God is a sock puppet of any past member.
