Actually I presently entertain 4 theories, or combinations of such. 1) That the typical orange balls of light or plasma seen as UFOs could be some as yet unknown telluric yet living entity. 2) that our planet has been and may still be being visited by aliens from another planet. 3) that there are beings visiting us from another dimension . 4) That we are seeing the emergence of some new kind of collective consciousness on earth that mirrors the cultural tropes of the time they manifest in. I'm even willing to admit that these could be terrestrial beings that live under our oceans, as reports of USOs (unidentified submersible objects) certainly suggest. So yes, I remain open to many theories, but I will not resign myself to just labeling it "unknown" so I don't have to look into it anymore. The objects DO have an explanation, and are not just unknowable objects, and it is our duty as explorers of reality to find the one that best fits the facts of the phenomenon. Yeah, because aliens from outer space and aliens from another dimension are SO different. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
So which one is it? You give 4 possibilities but you do not know which one it is? Yet you go on and say.......... So you do not know what it is, yet you refuse to entertain the obvious fact stemming from that, that it is unknown, unidentified, or a mystery. Why? Obviously the answer is 100% obvious and as others here have told you. You are believing exactly what you want to believe and will not entertain any other possibility that indicates that belief is unwarranted...This is total confirmation bias that you accuse others of. And of course your other "untruth" re you don't have to look into it anymore is another furphy by yourself. Most are investigated....and the most likely decision is made...that decision maybe, we do not know...it is unidentified...it is a UFO. Your thinking methodology defies common sense and logic.
I entertain multiple possibilities. Actually, I believe we HAVE been visited by aliens, have been visited by interdimensionals, and witness a strange plasmic lifeform in our atmosphere. What do you think? You don't think. You just say you don't know, and then move on. That's a recipe for ignorance.
No. Saying we don't know leaves us open to the possibility of learning in the future. Jumping to a conclusion based on nothing more than wishful thinking means there's no incentive to learn the actual truth. If you think you already know the answer, why bother to investigate further? THAT'S a recipe for ignorance.
No...believing in plausible explanations is not ignorance. It is the path of understanding, at least until we know for sure. That's how science operates. Saying it is unknown and leaving it at that in light of all that is known about the phenomenon is complacent ignorance and anti-scientific.
Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! Take it easy MR! Of course I think as most others do. But I and most others are able to sort fact from fiction. This appears to be your problem area. Yep, as I and others and most experts say, we do not know...it is unidentified, a mystery, unknown, or a UFO. And again we have your usual little falsehood. These things have been researched and investigated, before moving on. And they decide to move on simply because we do not have enough evidence to support any conclusive claim, including your own rather delusional confirmation biased claims. But hey! You believe what you like, but really, you should realise not to expect others to swallow what you are claiming. In essesnce though, they are simply UFO's, and remain so until any new evidence may surface to throw more light onto their identity.
You're not about science at all are you? You're about defending your belief that there is no such things as extraterrestrials visiting earth. That much is clear. Hence your strutting around waving the banner of the scientific method over everything, which even says formulate a theory. You refuse to do even that much. You're an insult to science. You should be ashamed of yourself.
But that is how science operates and why you need to take a leaf out of its book. Plausible explanations are investigated...many plausible explanations like weather balloons and Venus...or even swamp gas. Then when science are not able to find or have revealed any extraordinary evidence to reveal the true nature, that are classified as UFO's...or unknown. And that's how they remain until further evidence comes to light. We do not as yet know why gravity presents itself with warped. curved or twisted spacetime...it is as yet unknown. Just as sightings of phenomena may remain unknown and classed as UFO's.
Saying something is unknown is a cop out. Science is in the business of explaining with theories and conjectures based on the facts. Refusing to do this isn't science. It's ideology and dogmaticism--the protection of a world view that is threatened by the presence of alien visitations. The very fact that ufos display certain common characteristics refutes the lie that they are all unknown. They aren't unknown. They exhibit all the characteristics of non-human craft piloted by alien beings. They share certain physical features. Here's some of the things we know about ufos: http://www.openminds.tv/ufo-shapes/9117
You forgot delusion, optical illusions, mass hysteria, weather phenomenon, mental illness, understood earthly flying machines or balloons, and deliberate fraud.
Gee, I must have hit a soft spot somewhere to create that nonsensical rant. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! Let me straighten you out.... It is you plain as day, that is defending your own belief and rather poorly and illogically I might add. And what is really clear to the forum as a whole, is the twisting, squirming, and outright dishonesty you display to avoid admitting you are wrong. I'll say it again...What you believe is your business, but please do not expect that the rest of us are really stupid enough to believe your nonsense. That's why your threads are sometimes rather lengthy....People like myself and most others, taking time out to try and make you see the illogic and stupidity of your methodology. You should be thankful rather than spitting the dummy and carrying on with your now familiar rants.
Rubbish...saying something is unknown, or in this case a UFO, is common sense and logic. Science is certainly about the business of "trying" to explain the Universe around us, and they have most certainly and most admirably done that with defining unknown flying objects as UFO's. Sing me another one MR! Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! Science refuses nothing...science interprets the Universe around us based on experimental and observational evidence. It's not ideology or dogmatism, but those qualities are certainly an outpouring of your personality. When science does not know, then that's all they are obliged to admit...they do not know...they are UFO's. The scientific method and peer review is not perfect, but it most certainly is head and shoulders above the MR method and reviews based on Hollywood, Imagination, Illusions and delusions. The very fact that some people are delusional, the very fact that sometimes atmospheric disturbances can play tricks with one's mind, the very fact that some people want so hard for ETI to exist, that they see what they want to see and form delusions in their own mind based on their confirmation bias, the very fact that sometimes they are just mistaken, points to the undeniable fact that Alien craft are unlikely and that UFO's are all we are left with.

Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! Believe it or not, I have never watched any of the Mad Max movies. My particular brand of sci/fi movies I love are 2001, Mission to Mars, Interstellar, Forbidden planet, Gravity, The Day the Earth stood still [1953 version] Contact, the Star Trek franchise.... My reaction to the gullibility of MR and river, is one of amusement with a touch of incredulity.
