I suppose the first temple was build by Salomon at mount moriah, then it was destroyed by the Babylonian , then rebuild during Cyrus ( Persian ) the great emperor . then I believe Herod the great buid the last temple . Interesting How Islam got into the building the dome of the Rock

There is a rich mythological tradition which comprises much of the Torah. Of course, it has to be taken with a grain of salt, just as much as Greek mythology vis-a-vis the Aegean Bronze Age. There may be elements of history in there, but it is obscured by centuries of exaggeration and addition. Even the immediate period afterwards, the Babylonian Exile, is poorly attested though there is clear proof of the event; and it led directly to the strongest changes in Judaism, which gave it much of the characteristics we associate with the religion (monotheism, for starters).
The main period that can be attested through historical sources is the Second Temple Period, from the period of Achaemenid dominion to the last of the Jewish-Roman Wars.

However, despite these grey areas, there is a fair amount that can be gathered.
